Where is Sly? I can’t find him, the trail just stops

That is not the right Sly 
But I did find him now, by chance

It varies, I think, from time to time. There is the addon Handynotes that helps out with marking them. Today I found him by that first forge next to the rare elite. (The first one when you head out from Ven’aris cave) It was my second time picking him up though. Id recommend Handynotes (shadowlands)
I saw someone else doing it, but Sly wasn’t there, so I realized that times 1,2 and 3 are set places. So I found a guide and just went to the end-point, it was my 3rd time today.
Strange bug to say the least, the trail just stopping, quite far from the end point too
Sly is bugged due to his location this week being in the vicinity of the assault final boss which seems to be causing phasing issues. Clear the assault then find Sly.
This is what I did. I also went looking for Sly first, checked wowhead for assistance, found in the comments others having the same problem, went to the co-ords and Sly would not spawn. When I claered the boss, he was there.
These are the three locations for Sly, I suspect you are on the third one. The last trail (Sly 3) of paw prints didn’t work for me either. I looked up the coords after the trail went dead.

Just watch out when looking for him. You don’t find him, he finds you.
