was wondering through google and someone asked the question so it made me think.
where are we teleporting to from the mage tower ? where is the REAL mage tower ? are the human mages of stormwind are actually trained in a secret base ?
and please, no hogwarts joke. they are lame. 
think the human mages are more or less, trained buy the kirin tor, what is not located in stormwind at all, but somewhere else, Dalaran is one place atleast they train.
also if you check in the portal room in stormwind, you se a staircase going to an other floor also, you canĀ“t go there, but that could be the place where the mages go to get to their training place also.
There is no lore on that. But in the engine, the old room beyond the portal was actually located below Stormwind City (where you could get at some point using some exploits). I always liked the idea of the mages indeed studying in posh bunkers (with magic windows!) below the city.
This has never even occurred to me after all these years, interesting.
