Why are some mechanics implemented from the start when they should not be present (INT mana regen before 2.4.0) and some are comfortably forgotten?
pretty sure it means that you can summon a player whilst theyre already inside the instance. not sure when that change was actually made, but it was post vanilla.
no, you could summon in the same instance in vanilla, this is the first time when you could summon from open world INTO instance. There was technical limitation on the summoning in the begining, but they solved it in the end of TBC (this patch 2.4.0), they just expanded the possibilities in Wrath with the “warlock meeting stone” in 3.0.8.
you might be right. now that i think of it i was expected to summon alot of people back to the boss after a raid wipe lol
They removed it because of exploits. No way they put it back in just to be exploited again.
No they did not. I remember it clearly that in Sunwell it became available to summon people inside instances no matter where they were.
Not being able to summon people that were not inside was just vanilla up to patch 2.4 behavior.
They are just too lazy to implement every single change. Why bother if they’re gonna do it for WotLK anyway right?
This was always possible, even in vanilla.

Very sure, I can give you implementation patch of nearly every major feature from 1.4 till Legion from my head, and those few I miss are found very fast on wowwiki archive.
The remark on the INT based regen is also 2.4 btw.
And I stopped retail play since the “borrowed power” trend started with Artefact power grind…
And if we can live without this… we can definitely live without DungeonFinder, right?

They pretty much said this wont be implemented at the same time they said no summons would be possible in Netherstorm. Have people been sleeping the past 1,5 years?
Its in the “Burning Crusade Classic Beta Notes - April 15”.
Somehow I missed that for the past 1.5 years they have posted every day that they won’t implement that part.
Of course, as always, it’s the players who are at fault for not having detailed patch notes, like “screw you, we posted about this 10 years ago, where were you?”
Point being community was informed, it was not hidden and is something people have played with (or without) the last year. There were dicussions and news about it before that are easy to find - should one wish (which I assume one would if one makes a topic about it?).
It’s strange seeing a topic with “Ey, u forgot about this” over a year after the lack of something that was made very clear wouldnt be around.
You are making a great point yourself, is it according to you expected of them to write it every day or is it epected by you (or whoever chose to argue about it) to make a effort to find out what is and what is not before writing?
Whats the alternative, having them post every detail they change on a daily basis so people who wouldnt read it anyway dont waste their time making topics 1,5 years down the line? Is that what you are implying?
They shold post the details when relevant to the phase that is being released.
Should I go ahead and take every patch note from 2.4 by hand and see if there is any mention in the last 2 years of what might not make it in as was?
They said what was up and how things were going to be a year ago, so if anything they should inform us if they strive from that - thats news unlike redudant information due to peoples inability to read or use a search engine.
Anything else would be strange, especially when the current phases are arbitrary, meaning there’s no 1:1 information to relate to.
