Why its not a thing? Come on? People want to play Hydralisk, Firebat or Templar. New patch adds new planet to explore or conquer over? If Blizzard got 1000+ people did they drop their balls?

Starcraft was supposed to have a Battlefield-like game, but the workforce that was on this project as been send and split, a year ago on OW2 and Diablo 4 teams and the game got cancelled. It’s sad that all good ideas for this franchise are always cancelled. There was a Splinter Cell-like game called Starcraft Ghost that was supposed to release on console Gen 2 (Xbox, PS2, GC) but got cancelled and semi-recycled in Starcraft 2 missions (Nova related missions in Wings of liberty).
But there is a fan project called Starcraft Univers in the Arcade mode of Starcraft 2 that is in a way a World of Starcraft. And since it’s in the Arcade, it’s totally free to play for everyone to try.

OW is 100% uninteresting 5 button gameplay. Starcraft had great lore, world and ready assets. There is not one sci-fi MMO comparable to WoW. Star Wars is laggy and clunky.
I played starcraft at competition lvl in my youth , starcraft is hard end of story .
Developers are creating more elaborates hamster’s wheel = $$$ .
There’s nothing to discuss except wishful thinking .
I feel you. I dont think it was worth neither. OW2 will need it’s PVE missions to be exceptionnal to be able to justify this cancellation.
I know. Player satisfaction in 2022 is on the last page in any AAA developers list-of-things- to-get-right.
Funny how modern movies also are top notch quality in cinematic sense, sound and music, but story and character development stays in abyss.

The StarCraft franchise is basically dead. Most of the SC developers left Blizzard. I doubt we’ll ever see another StarCraft product. 
Every sane person left Blizzard. Just look at Arclight Rumble. The graphical style is wrong, the name is wrong. Gameplay is 100% uninteresting.
That game has good legacy

A bit like the Warcraft movie, it’s had it’s time. No one make an MMORPG now.
Besides they wont want to endanger their cash cow WoW. People may say WoW is dead, but it’s floating on a sea of money.
