For some reason, I always imagined WoW being developed in France. I am really not sure why. But now I am thinking that idea is wrong.
pretty sure it’s developed somewhere in the US.
Developed in the US, maybe the France connection is down to the fact that the majority of EU servers are based in France.
Blizzard used to be owned by Vivendi (French company) - but it’s developed in good old Irvine, CA, USA.
Its developed in the US, the EU servers are based and maintained in France. That is why the EU server time scale is set to GMT+1.
However I’m not sure about the time difference for servers in the US as we have 3 time zones. Where I am I use EST, which is 5 hours behind GMT, Mid Western 6 hours behind gmt and PST which is california which is 7 hours behind GMT.
Basically as i still play on my old EU account which I had way before I emigrated to the US 9 years ago I am always 6 hours behind server time, which is why I have to be selective with the forum runs organized by lovely folks like Twiluna and Kyrel. For example the Legion Glory run, which is 20:00 EU Server time, is actually 2pm my time. So I have had to use one of my hour reduction days from the hospital to join, otherwise I’d have been out of luck.
Right now in india.
You know the joke…
You have 6 time zones not 3
lol you’re right I usually only count 3, im always forgetting the others.
thanks.
I think that’s why I felt that way, that combined with the server locations.
