I’m playing the retail version of wow with the most recent expansion installed, and I’m trying to level my classic fishing skill. I’m currently sat on level 120 out of 300, but at least half of that has been achieved with dailies. I’ve searched all over for guides on how to get this to 300 the quickest, but all of the guides I can find are either hopelessly out of date, or relate to wow classic. Could someone let me know exactly which zones I should be fishing in to get this to 300 as quickly as possible?

Keep in mind, this guide combines fishing & cooking, if people want to level them together, but in general, you just fish in the zones of the respective expansion in order to get skill ups, doesn’t matter which.
So you can literally fish in any Kalimdor or EK zones (except for the 4 cataclysm ones) in order to gain skill ups.
Personally I just sat and fished in stranglethorn all the way to 300. Maybe a zone with higher fishing skill like Blasted Lands will yield skillups faster but unless you want specific fish for cooking I don’t see a reason not to camp a single spot.
