Where to level

I am back after a break and started leveling in MoP instead of BFA. Haven’ t bought DF yet but probably will. I am a very casual player that enjoys questing and professions and doing achievements. I had a look at BFA and noticed that there is a lot of grinding and some dungeons to do before I get the BFA Pathfinder, and I read that they allow flying now? Since I don’ t enjoy dungeons, is there a point in starting BFA?

If you like questing and want to level quick then the last I read, WoD expansion give most experience.

Leveling is very quick now a days.

If u can start in any other zone go for it.

There is no need to do content you dont like.

Any path finder is grind.

To my knowledge, yes. Either it’s in already or 10.1 which comes very soon. No point in doing it unless you want the mechaparrot mount from it.

So nope, unless you specifically enjoy BfA you can do any other timeline.

That’ s great to here. I like certain areas of BFA but I want to explore some expansions.

WoD and MoP are both quick and easy way to level, your quest log will never be empty, leveled several alts in both “timelines”. Also dont forget to do some dungeons every now and then, usually 1 random dungeon yields 1 level worth of xp overall.

You don’t need pathfinder to fly in BfA zones, so you won’t have to worry about not being able to fly in Kul Tiras or Zandalar. As others have said, if you enjoy questing for the lore WoD zones are a great way to go, and also some Classic zones are full of lore as well, specifically zones such as Westfall, Duskwood, the Plaguelands, just to name a few.

Duskwood is a favourit of mine, so I will visit there. And I will check out WoD then. I have tried dungeon and they are too overwhelming and too fast and can’ t keep up, so I stick to questing.

Imo, BfA is a mandatory expansion to level through at least once. Leveling quests and story are really good (Alliance especially, Horde is also really good), one of the best in game. Dungeons are really good too.

After you’ve completed the Alliance leveling storyline, there’s a questline “Pride of Kul Tiras” centered on Jaina Proudmoore, that requires you to complete all dungeons on Kul Tiras in the process (but it’s really good both questline and dungeons), orher than that, no dungeons are required.

You can fly now without Pathfinder, and pathfinder itself doesn’t require any dungeons.

The entry sequence to WoD - going through the Dark Portal and fighting your way through to found your Garrison - is excellent the first time you do it. And very high XP. And the Garrison gets you an extra hearthstone to there.

Another highlight is the opening quests in Legion, where again you get a Hearthstone to Legion Dalaran, and the quests to acquire an Artefact Weapon.

I am confused about “Pride of Kul Tiras”. It is, from what I read on wow head part of Pathfinder and it does involve dungeons. As someone who avoids dungeons(done a few by accident), if I want to complete Pathfinder, I can’t without “Pride of Kul Tiras”?

They recently changed this so you don’t have to. When you accept the dungeon quest you talk to your quest giver and say “I trust you to do this” and the quest autocompletes.

Oh! That’s awesome. I will look into that on a character that has done some of the Pathfinder. Thanks!

Do you have Chromie Time enabled on your account? Just look for a pretty gnome sitting on a hourglass north of the Dwarven District.
If not then you have no choice beyond level 45.
Classic dungeons are easy, you can queue for them when you select the Cataclysm timeline.
For quests I recommend some of the vanilla zones, Suramar in Legion is great, too.

Yes, I have Chromie Time on some of my alts. I had a look on my level 60 druid who has done some of the BFA achievement and looked at my progress on wow head. After the Sweete’s Strongbox quest I stopped and I can’ t find anymore quests to do to continue.

What is the next quest in the chain? What happens when you right click on the quest giver? Maybe it’s not displayed on the minimap because you are already 60 and they want you to go to the Dragon Isles. If you click on the quest giver it should still offer the quest even if the exclamation mark is not displayed.

The next quest is Tol Dagor: The fourth key. I stopped there as it is a dungeon. I am as I am writing this at the turn in for the Sweete’ s box but nowhere are there quests for me to do there

Update: Found Flynn and can continue the questline. The quest simply does not show up on the map but when I went to see Flynn he had the quest.

I didn’t see anyone suggest this, but to see quests on your map that are too low level, you can look above your mini map; above the map is the zone you’re in and, to the left of the zone name, there’s a small icon of binoculars. Click on that and you can check ‘trivial quests’ near the bottom and they should show up on your map.

BfA scales to 60, and the OP is 60 so the quest shouldn’t be trivial.

Sorry, I must’ve missed they were 60. I presumed they were asking about the character they were posting on.
