I am guessing we could have the option to move them to classic ERA with all SOD additions removed, OR what else? I am taking advantage of the leveling speed in SOD but I wish to play ERA after this is done. Any ideas?
Yeahā¦ nope, if you wanna play era your best bet is to lvl there. What would you do if you could transfeer? Your char would be completely naked because the gear difference from era and SoD and most likely with 0 gold aswell
there is no way they ādeleteā SOD characters so CLASSIC GY will always be Classic era servers. I bet on that, the thing is what other options we could have

They would have to remove gold/gear/items from your character to transfer them over
With all the issues in various wow versions do you think they have the resources to pull this off?

Maybe if we are lucky they wont delete SoD servers when they move on, so maybe we get one server. But a transfeer? That is never gona happen
On 14 February 2023, Season of Mastery realms closed, preventing players from clicking the āEnter Worldā button. Players were able to transfer their Season of Mastery characters for free to any Classic or Wrath of the Lich King Classic realm until the Season of Mastery realms were completely removed on 28 July 2023.
Being a Seasonal Server there will be transfers to ERA. I just need some clarification from a blue post or something
I would not hold my breathe for SOD chars moving to Era

My thinking is they might go for the cheap/lazy option and just leave the server running.
Unless they plan on some sort of SOD 2 then /shrugs
Not sure how many players would want to go to ERA naked, goldless and missing all the cool new items they got from SOD

āWe are envisioning an interesting place for them to move to that allows them to keep some of the itemization that weāve added in Season of Discovery. Something very similar to Classic Era but not existing Classic Era realms.
Guess we will have to wait and see how far those visions got them
