So I’ve just rolled Afflilock for Shadowlands, and was expecting to find Shadow Bolt.
Anyone else missing Shadow Bolt?
Did you choose the “Drain Soul” talent? If so, it replaces shadow bolt.

Isn’t “Drain Soul” has more DPS overall than speccing shadow bolt ?
To my knowledge, Drain Soul is indeed the default pick. I don’t think the other talents on that row compete at all, at least not in the current build.
Drain Soul is a shard generator that also has insane execute damage, so it’ll be useful in all content, whereas the other two seem quite lackluster overall.
ye, atm drain soul outperforms because it’s got so many perks, including execute damage, shard sniping, easy/fast to apply/maintain shadow’s embrace.
i’m not mad about it tho, it feels so much better than shadow bolt.
Still wish we had the Legion Drain Soul back… Shadow Bolt, Drain Soul and Drain Life all rolled into one.
