It’s strange that we don’t have a duck mount, almost three years have passed since Dragonflight went live, why is that relevant you ask? Because ducks featured predominantly in that expansion. There even was a quest where you ride a duck! The model is already in the game files.
People have made numerous requests for a Duck mount on every website that Blizzard frequents, but still, nothing. It’s strange.

The game would be better if we removed every single mount except horses and kodos.

That is actually how they used to do it: take a more or less “cute/whimsical” concept and then put their grim spin on it.
Murlocs used to be these funky looking fish people, but they were bloodthirsty and would jump you at any moment. Just look at that poor guard that was literally torn to shreds in Elwynn by the lake.
Now they are cute accessoires.

still they are slimy, pointy teethed predators with dead makarel eyes. Same goes for Kobolds, which TWW ruined imo
I think it was Tolkien who argued that good fairy-stories require a touch of horror. I’m not opposed to cute and light-hearted elements, but there needs to be balance, lest the world lose its gravity. The real issue is not what gets added, in my opinion, but what’s missing. All the duck mounts in the world would be fine, if we also got a quest with wereducks feasting on travellers’ corpses, as an example.
Mount bloat is real. It started in Legion I think.
I fully support this. I have 148428942389723423789432978423 mounts but sincerely somethin different would be good.

I’m honestly surprised they didn’t give us one after DF. Maybe they could make it the next mount achievement milestone reward!!!
Especially that last mount collector reward mount was such a let down - just a spectral ottusk.
