Hi there. Trying to figure out what healer to play in SL and I cant decide. I like them all (except hpala) in their own way and since i dont have friends i thought a smart way to go about it is to pick one that works with most comps so share your thoughts and ideas please and inspire me :’)
Druide can be played with every comp in the game.
Pala and mw are also very versatile but mw is more good for melee cleave and pal for caster comp.
Thank you for the reply!
Keep in mind it’s going to change in Shadowlands. So far Disc looks the strongest on beta and H Pala is the worst.
Pala . Rmx meelecleavs mlp any Solution of castercleavs
holy priest ftw !!!
Btw cdew is doing videos on all healers and their performance in pvp in shadowlands, check them out and you will see pros and cons of all healers in pvp.
Great videos thanks for info.
Just watched it and its so sad how restoshamans were kicked in the balls. Also Who desinged necrolord covenant for restodruids is moron really its so overpowered its isnane and necrolord really fits druids tmog and lore ![]()
Skill-capped does the same on their youtube channel and they have slightly different view.
Im not saying resto will be bad performance wise…Just looks like there werent any resources left after enha and ele rework for resto.
They are, but they won’t be.
Paladin’s ability to free cast will be significantly reduced as he’s required to hard cast longer-cast spells.
Probably.
I believe Disc Priest will be the best pic now.
For these reasons:
- He’s an offensive healer, that means that offensive teams such as RMX can pick it (RMP) and do well nearly all the time no matter the meta. And Rogue Mage is safe bet always.
- He can play other comps that looks strong too. Like Jungle. Most comps with Hunter play Disc (MM was buffed and looks promising).
- He has high skill cap. With SWD, you can learn a lot by playing Disc.
- Some abilities looks insane. They will be tuned for sure, but maybe not nerfed to the ground and maybe still pretty strong. They can’t nerf EVERYTHING to the ground, right?
If you prefer melee cleave you can try Rdruid for similar reasons.
I myself struggle as I don’t want to be hard-casting paladin nor do I wish to play wizard cleaves.
I might end up playing DPS (Feral or Affli) or maybe Rdruid.
I’d otherwise play Rsham because I like the toolkit, but my friend is a Mage.
Just a bit of advice, but don’t look just on healer, but also what you can play with. There might be strong healer with no good comp to go with it and decent healer with a best comp. That’s why I’d bet Disc will be the strongest and both it and Rdruid are a safe pick.
Depends on which class is better right now. In bfa s1 druid was OP, so every comp needed druid, in s4 we have mw, which can play with anyone. Even RM playing with mw on tournaments sometimes. So just pick OP class and you’re welcome anywhere
If they get the healing output needed Rdruid is probably the most versatile healer.
Disc Priest looks stronger if they get the healing output. Especially with Thoughtsteal. Which can actually hard counter Rdruid.
I wasn’t speaking about the meta but in general with their toolkit and core design.
Then I think you’re way off. Paladin can’t really avoid CC, he has to hard cast a lot in SL, and is overly reliant on cooldowns and good stats + crit procs.
Good, they’re meant to be. There’s a reason they’re the most OP healer atm
i think rdruid has had the most comps throughout the expansions
havent played beta but my guess would be mw rsham rdruid hpal in no order
so pretty much everything except priest which sticks generally to very few comps
I think you’re right with the cooldown reliability. It’s just too bad when it gangs up together and creates multiple downside.
And then you have Druid who’s not reliant on cooldowns, provides instant healing, basically is uninterruptable and he’s durable (can bear form) even when you interrupt it and has multiple ways how to avoid CC.
Having advantages and disadvantages is good, but they have to be evenly spread among healers.
From what I saw it looks like this:
-Disc - insane healing output and damage due to old spells being brought back, the best Covenant spell: Mindgames and insane new PvP talent “Thoughtsteal”
-MW - very strong healing output as always but potential mana problems (also as always) - a little nerf to Statue’s Soothing Mist and Fortifying Brew (or whatever it’s called), Way of Crane is a bit reworked. Insane covenant spell from Venthyr and very good Legendaries
-R Druid - good legendaries, even more CC however SL looks way more bursty than BFA and Druids healing might not fit into it. Druids are generally better in longer games
-R Shaman - spells that are brought back aren’t really useful, there is no Ghost Wolf trait, Shaman has to hard cast a lot and have some mana issues that you have to cover with proper use of Mana Tide Totem and Water Shield. Covenants aren’t that good.
-H Pala - Infusion of Light doesn’t make your casts faster anymore so pala not only has to hardcast everything but he has no short casts what he has to cover with new Aura Mastery combined with Concentration Aura. Pala as always is very vulnerable to CC while not having any hot healing. H Paly looks good for castercleaves though as Aura Mastery is applied to the wole party and he has nice conduit reducing fear duration for 30% with Crusader’s aura.
-H Priest - got a lot of great things - has good healing and damage but it is outshined by disc in both matters. He probably won’t be as dominant in 2s as currently but better in 3s.
Depends on tuning, but druid/disc would be my bets there because of their design.
