Expansions tend to give the spotlight to a few playable races. Of course TWW we get a lot of Dwarf, Elf, Human, and Goblin stuff going on. What races do you think deserve to get some spotlight next expansion or during coming patches? Personally hoping for some troll stuff in Midnight with the fact that there’s a pretty large troll presence in that area.
depends what we’re referring too in terms of spotlight, if itsjust general lore. I think expanding on anything but an elf flavor at this stage would be good,if its in-game customisation, most non-elf races are due some touch ups to varying degrees
Ethereals seem like a likely candidate as a possible race that might get introduced in Midnight.
Vulpera - we need an entire expansion about vulperas. Imagine the daily quests about collecting excrements or writing alpaca songs.
And cookies
Mecha Gnomes. A marvel in technology should not be ignored.
Honestly, so many races deserve a back story and thematic display of their history and culture. There are so many stories Blizzard could tell about Tauren, Undead, all these different races to pull material from and tell deeper stories about who they are with cutscenes and events much like that Undermine but doesnt even need to go that deep, maybe a dungeon or two to help tell that story.
They could add more aesthetics to the game, like more decorations and symbols of that race to match that theme. Mounts and even daily quests specifically for that race and more unlockable rewards
With the return to Northrend and all the titan related stuff there i’d really hope for a return of the gnomes in general. I feel like King Mekkatorque hasn’t been seen in ages, and the Mechagnomes would be perfect meeting the ORIGINAL Mechagnomes.
How can anyone be interested in diapergnomes?

Give us completely new race like Ogre should have been released in WoD imo coz there are ogre dungeon & raid.
Draenei didn’t really get a spotlight simce Legion. Sure they had that one quest chain that was unrelated to anything going on in DF to unlock red draenei, but Blizzard struggles to incorporate them if it’s not about Draenor or fighting demons.

Because ignoring their lacking customization they have an interesting idea behind them that they really should’ve expanded on more.
We need to make a list of how many times a race has been in the spotlight:
Vanilla: Humans, Trolls
TBC: Draenei, Blood Elves
WotLK: Humans
Cataclysm: …Night Elves and Dwarves? Elves were in Hyjal and Vash’jir. Dwarves were in Twilight Highlands. There were also the events with Gnomes in Gnomeregan and Trolls in Echo Isles. Worgen and Goblins only had their starting areas.
MoP: Pandaren and Trolls
Draenor: Draenei and Orcs
Legion: Night Elves and Draenei
BFA: Humans, Orcs, Trolls, Gnomes, Night Elves
Shadowlands: Night Elves
Dragonflight: Dracthyr and Night Elves
TWW so far: Dwarves and Goblins
And what does that list tells us?
We need forsaken content.
They didn’t even got the spotlight when there queen was warchief.
Only thing we got was reclaiming out city where absolutely nothing happened
You also forgot Dwarves, Gnomes, Worgen and Tauren

But come on our queen was the leader of the entire horde and we did not get story…
And I would argue dwarfs got atleast some bits here and there with magni and bran and now Moira.
And tauren and gnomes had some good content with there allied races that are not really that much different from the core race. High mountain lore is still tauren lore

I think we’ve got the races we need. If we want to go further we’re going to look into monsters of some description - and do we want to do that?
