Which Race-Class (Zandalari Troll) Combo suits 100% (from lore + logical perspective) which is a S tier DPS wise & everything wise (PVE + PVP) at all times?

I am aware of that. People have been giving you combinations based on lore, as you said in your OP, and you’ve been dismissing them out of hand because they are not S tier, so it seems you are going to have to sacrifice lore validity to get an S tier class.

And if you’re just going to dismiss people giving you lore combinations as you had asked for because they aren’t the absolute cutting edge then I think you need to re-evaluate your priorities.

I’m going to duck out now as I can feel myself getting frustrated and I don’t want to derail your thread into a shouting contest so I bid you good luck in settling on a class.

I am honestly shocked at these replies.

It is obviously Hunter, Shaman and Druid. Z Trolls are primal, those are the primal classes.

I would say Surv Hunter is the most fitting spec for a Z Troll.

I don’t mind sacrificing Lore wise little bit or vice versa I don’t mind sacrificing little bit as long as it’s a S Tier and as long as it’s not something absurd. (As long as there’s a Balance between Lore & Logic and I don’t mind sacrificing to certain extent)

As some Race-Class Combos can be absurd. As long as the Race-Class Combo for Zandalari is not absurd.

So,

When it comes to Zandalari Troll race, from lore + logical perspective (S tier Class) DPS wise, everything wise (PVE + PVP) and at all times are the following ones:

S Tier (Best number 1)

  1. DK

  2. Mage

  3. Rogue

Then comes A tier (best number 2)

  1. Warrior (& etc).

So yes that’s the case.

From a lore/roleplay perspective, almost anything goes because you can flavour which Loa your Zandalari troll worships/serves.

So even a DK works fine if your Zandalari worships Bwonsamdi or Mueh’zala. Pretend that’s where you draw your death powers from instead of the whole Lich King shtick.

The thing is, with race-class combos, nothing “doesn’t make sense” aside from the two exceptions of Velf Holy Priests and LFD Shadow Priests. They’re all plausible because they’re possible to play on the race and nothing in the race negates them (excepting the two above examples).

So it’s a wierd question to me. Like, every class Zandalari can play as has a basis in lore, so simply select whichever one you want to play as out of those identified as “S-tier”.

I’d just be mindful S-tier in all probability won’t be the case in SL when things are shaken up again, so i’d actually give those pointing out really great lore-race combos some consideration, because such things are the case every patch. Whereas class tiering comes and goes. Ultimately having a race-class combo you feel absolutely kosher with, that makes you want to play the class is far more important (in my opinion) than them being tiered highest, because if the high-tier class you’re not gaga over gets bumped down, boom, you no longer have any incentive to play the character anymore.

Paxmillian very valid & decent point thank you so much - I agree with you with every new expansion & patch things get’s shaken and amendments take place.

I enjoy DH I’ve been playing DH and I Love it same with Mage.

But there are some Classes since the beginning of time they’ve always been S Tier everything wise (PVE + PVP) Mage & Rogue has always been S Tier since Vanilla days until now so they’re S Tier at all times and I enjoy their play-style and the lore around them as well.

Since the release of DK & DH they’re also S Tier.

So no matter what these 4 : DH , Mage , Rogue & DK will always remain S Tier at all times DPS wise & everything wise (PVE + PVP)

Rogue I’ve never played it properly, neither DK so I need to explore them if I enjoy them I’ll play them if not then I won’t play them, even if they’re S Tier you know.

Warrior is a very powerful Class DPS wise and everything wise (PVE + PVP) sometimes S Tier but most of the time A Tier but yeah still very strong Class, but it’s not for me, I don’t enjoy their play-style at all.

Same with Hunter & Warlock. And certain roles (Tanking & Healer) & Classes I haven’t even tried because I’m not attracted to them at all - not even single bit. So those certain ones I haven’t tried since there’s 0 zero natural attraction you know.

I’ve made my decision already my Zandalari Troll will be one of the following 3 :

  1. DK

  2. Mage

  3. Rogue

I’ll try out properly all 3 (Especially Rogue & DK) (Mage I have played it but long time ago) and then make my decision. And get that Heritage Armour.

And before SL comes out I’ll pick my main character and that’ll be one of the following :

  1. DH

  2. DK

  3. Mage

  4. Rogue

(Highly likely it’ll be DH) But yeah let’s see.

Prime example being Zandalari Warlocks… Which we were suppose to get and have 2 our of 3 Destruction and Affliction which works just fine for them. But because reasons they were removed even if one of the Zandalar zones is littered with them.

This was literally race-class balance across the two factions. If Zandalari could be Warlocks, they’d be able to be every class except DH, and their closest equivalent is DID (who can also be 10/12 classes) so you’d either need to give DID an extra class (Lol Druid or DH) or another allied race another class.

TBH plausible ones would have been KT paladins, LFD Monks or Mechagnome Shaman (If Goblins can, I see no reason why not and it would have made them much more sellable)

I see what you mean about “consistent frontrunners”.

In that case i’d say each still has appeal tbh, for different reasons:

DKs have a potential tanking spec, which always make them valuable across expos. If you don’t want to tank at all, discount this.

Mages always have 1 spec that does very well in PvE, it may swap, but they always have a front runner that nets them a spot in raids and dungeons.

Same for rogues. Rogues also bring shroud which makes them invaluable for dungeons.

So essentially if “reliable S-tier DPS” is your aim, it comes down to for me do you prefer melee or ranged? if melee, rogue, if ranged, mage. Both of them will always have a spec that does extremely well because it is the nature of DPS pure classes to be balanced like this (Warlocks are probably the one exception to the rule regarding PvE, not being quite so dominant, but in PvP this applies).

Fire Mage
BM Hunter
Outlaw/Sin Rogue

Havoc DH is S Tier DPS wise at all times and everything wise (PVE + PVP)

I heard from many top players Frost DK is also S Tier DPS wise at all times and everything wise (PVE + PVP) But I’m not sure.

Fire Mage for PVE & Frost Mage for PVP

Outlaw Rogue for PVE & Assasination Rogue for PVP

Havoc DH for both PVE + PVP (So yes everything wise)

I heard same applies to DK (Frost DK is apparently S Tier for both PVE + PVP)

Unholy is also strong PVP on S Tier but only PVP wise not PVE wise

Everything wise (PVE + PVP) wise for DK having both in 1 spec for DK is Frost

For Rogue doesn’t exist having both in 1 spec for PVE one must play Outlaw & for PVP one must play Assasination

Mage yeah same : Frost for PVP & Fire for PVE

Havoc DH though is that special Class 1 spec for both PVE + PVP :wink: Easy to play super fun S Tier DPS wise at all times and everything wise (PVE + PVP) WoW team’s fav Class is DH 100% same mine as well ;)))

But yes I agree with you.

The following 3 are S Tier DPS wise all times everything wise (PVE + PVP) :

  1. DH

  2. Mage

  3. Rogue

I enjoy both melee & ranged to be honest.

I’ll roll out all 3 with Zandalari. (DK, Rogue & Mage) & then make my decision.
