which server would be best for my best friend and i to jump back into Wotlk?
We want a rather high pop server with a lot of alliance to raid with.

Pyrewood Village has the largest Alliance population of the 3, but Mirage Raceway is just fine as well. Nethergarde Keep is kinda small, but still playable.
Both Earthshaker and Firemaw are monofaction PvP servers, and thus almost PvE in practice, but you do get occasional Horde Rogue killing helpless victims in the open world because nobody expects them there.
I’d just go Pyrewood in your place and not bother with failed PvP realms.

Mirage, we love new people and we have a friendly community, high end of the medium pop right now and when wrath hit we will be high again without a question.
Edit: And if you and your friends need any help while leveling or so if you chose Mirage just do a /who Attack Skull and you will have a bunch of helpful people just tell them that Cupid sent you ^^

A friend of mine moved from pyrewood to mirage raceway alliance and he was actually kinda disappointed about the population but since i have 1 char there he wanted to be able to play together with me so he stayed.
Mirage and Pyrewood are both High pop. But Pyrewood is lower end high and occasionally goes to Medium, while Mirage is higher end High. They’ll both go Full on Wrath Classic launch with Nethergarde hitting High at least.
