Which server would you recommend me to fresh start on?

Hi guys,
I’m an old wow player, and lately I’ve been getting the desire to hang out in mythic+ again.
my main goal is to remain a casual player, but doing mythic+ as high as I can and when.

All my ally pgs are on nemesis, italian server.
The problem is that on italian servers there are very few people and especially nemesis is more horde people
I know pug is cross server - cross faction, but I was also thinking to change server for a fresh start.
Which ally or half-half server would you recommend me to fresh start on? Silvermoon? Ravencrast? too much crowded? Outland?
Is there a server with a lot of quiet guys and a really low percentage of flamers/trollers?

For a casual player, do you think is “stupid” change server?

Also one thing I didn’t understand, is the AH cross-server now? or just cross-realm?

Thanks!

Welcome back!

Starting with the simple last question first: All Auction Houses are linked region wide - so all servers on EU - but only for stackables, like herbs, ore, mats, pots, flasks. Individual pieces of armour are still confined to the server they are listed from.

A second piece of information that may be of interest is that levelling is insanely fast now. Current world record to get 10-60 is a bit over 3 hours https://www.reddit.com/r/wow/comments/yx53wj/i_leveled_from_1060_in_3_hours_and_wrote_a_guide/

If you are thinking of transferring characters, you should be aware that getting a new character up to 60 is maybe not as much work as you might expect.

OTOH, if you are transferring, do note that there are now discounts for transferring more characters.

If I were starting a new character, I would head straight to Silvermoon for Alliance, or Draenor for Horde. No hesitation, no doubts. Yes, there could be some lag during peak hours at the start of an expansion or, briefly, at a new patch, but for me, that is vastly outweighed by the world being alive. My main server is small (“medium”), but I also have characters on Silvermoon and Draenor, and the difference is insane, especially in this expansion where the devs are forcing us through garbage quasi-group content in the world that NEED large crowds to be viable.

If you really really don’t want to face the change of ever hitting a queue or lag, then I suppose Ravencrest would be an acceptable second choice.

Also, if you are getting into M+, and you want to avoid flamers and jerks, find a Community like Scared of Dungeons (Alliance) Scared of Dungeons EU EN

I’m thinking about whether I should change or not… but if there’s pug and AH for materials too, then it’s not really necessary to change.

I could lean on communities, although I haven’t had good experiences with communities. Almost all of them are full but ‘empty’.

Why would you go to silvermoon exactly? i.e. for guilds? can’t everything be done in pug?

You mentioned ravencrast, but still would you go to silvermoon? next to patch and expansions you said it lags, how long would it last more or less? 2 weeks?

I certainly do not transfer characters, if anything I recreate them. I don’t mind and yes, I know it takes very little.

Maybe I could give it a try on silvermoon and see how it goes with the pgs.

Maybe I could also improve my English ^^

Well, if you wanted to do M+ in PuGs and nothing else, I suppose any realm would be as good as any other.

But obviously large realms will have more guilds, and a livelier world. I find it makes a huge difference.

And what about community for pvp instead? it could be silvermoon a good server too for pvp guilds?

I remember seeing ads for PvP guilds, but that was long ago.
