Ofc there is some level of individualism, but in this case it’s very clear, because some specs have a clear logic, and other specs just happen to sim the highest in a way, and if you deviate from the sim, you do low damage, because that’s how the numbers are balanced. That’s especially true for arms, because so much damage is just mortal strike. If you apply logic, you will fail on that spec. If you follow the guide brainlessly, you will succeed.
Ret might be very easy, but Ret is a spec that is completely logical. You can do your rotation well without reading any guide, and the deviation between the mathematically optimal way to build holy power and a slightly less efficient way is not crazily high, so it’s not that punishing.
Despite that so called 10.0.5 revamp, yeah, arms is neither fun nor engaging.
I mean, if a defensive spell like IP is being used as part of the offensive rotation, then something’s kinda wrong. At least it’s outside of GCD, but in my mind, arms has mostly been about dumping rage with damaging spells to fish for overpowered procs (Since Legion).
It’s probably because we’ve been used to buff mortal strike through overpower from Legion to SL, so that kinda feels bad now, alongside not using the iconic dumper XD
Assa rogue used to be my favorite rogue spec, now its a ton of buttons to do very lil dmg. sub was quite fun as well. now it i cant stand any of the rogue specs due to it being a absolute disco with the combo point CD reduction, it just feels clunky.
It was one of those specs (like feral druid) that was incredibly weak in M+ before the DF rework. I haven’t played it since the rework - played sub a little bit, but haven’t really played the rogue much at all because the druid is too much fun. It still doesn’t look particularly great in AOE with Indiscriminate Carnage being on a 45 second CD, but I can’t say it looks complex.
Its one of those specs that requires quite a bit of start up before it gets going, quite a few bleeds/poisons to manage before you pop carnage and if not done in the correct order it deals significantly less dmg.
Energy isnt an issue. Especially if coupled with tea. You track two dots. Three if I count sepsis. Four if we include CT during AoE. You keep 1 shiv always ready for either sepsis or deathmark. Slice and Dice is used once and then being forgotten. Like the most “complex” aspect about assa is using sepsis and utilizing its uptime properly for max sepsis garrote uptime.
And while Assa doesnt have burst, it does have sustained dmg and is one of the best ST specs right now.
Yes… that’s not the point.
I mean it’s boring af; I guess you’ve never heard the jokes about tour de france being the most boring thing to watch on this entire earth.
That’s why I made the joke.
PvE rogue is as boring as tour de france.
It’s a class that just asks for PvP.
