Which tank are currently best in Mythic +?
I can’t raid at all the way my life are, so I have to focus on dungeons, and I want to do the best to perform well. Anyone got tips etc to which tank is the best in 5 man content?

Do you aim to push high keys and things or just to do weekly 10+ cache ? if the latter pick which ever class you find fun but for high keys i think atm DK still rules .
Best for what? some affixes are easier on some tanks, it realy depends on what you are looking for
BDK is still boss so if you want to push that’s probably the best choice
I would like to push as much as possible. =) I can play 4-5 hours a day.
Oh then i suggest probably the DK for sure very solid tanks .
DK will see you to 20+ With the easiest time if pug or premade
Paladin 15 maybe more but grouping becomes insanely difficult, most people prefer a DK and more often than not bored DKs are willing to fill in so they’d rather have that over any other tank.
Warrior 15 but grouping will be difficult without premade after 12 most likely. If your iO is good then some may take you but groups seriously prefer DKs atm.
DH probably 15+ but same as Paladin I’ll admit I don’t really see them in higher keys as much as pala or DK but they seem one of the better options impo.
Monk you’ll be lucky if you get 15 pug, premade however and if you can play them well can easily see you beyond 15. Groups just struggle to believe a BrM can be played well.
Druid meh my friend struggles to get into anything over 12/14. That and even as a premade it is far easier to heal literally every other tank imo.
DKs just have it all atm, if DPS silenced more and avoided damage more then other tanks would have a smoother time climbing. But putting it bluntly they just can’t be bothered, so they look to the tank and/or healer.
However if you prefer one class over another and have some friends, pick the class you enjoy as it’ll be a much better experience.
blood dk is da best right now u pull and if u abouta die coz u have too many of em on u just slow and kite em
Every tank in the games done a 20 on time. Play what ever you fancy. Druids the easiest, warrior does most damage. DK has best utility and good heals. Pally is good for an all round tank. Brews the best if you can kite well, and easiest on the healer. DH is a high skill, high reward tank.
This would seem to indicate Blood Death Knights are very strong atm…
This is a really nice guide tbh well done and when i tank on druid i tend to feel unwanted tbh .
All tanks are viable now (alas with druid maybe still being on the weak side, but expect balance tweaking with the new raid release). DK was king in 8.0, so many tanks jumped to one and probably many won’t switch again unless the class gets nerfed into the ground, so logs are skewed. One big advantage they do retain is a combat rez, meaning you can be a bit more flexible on the remaining group composition.
Community perception is also a big factor. DK was so overwhelmingly better for M+ at the start of the expansion, it will take months, if not the rest of the expansion, for popular opinion to catch up.
Play the tank you enjoy most, get good at it and all should be well. Tuning comes and goes, what is top today, could be bottom tomorrow.
blood dk
Shame that Rio ranking first 40 best are DK, Monks and warriors I’m gearing a monk for next season. It definitely looks fun to play and perhaps this time around I could push something.
Most of which are likely premades which I made perfectly clear in my post.
In a premade anything goes, generally the community won’t look twice at a BrM.
Edit forgot to mention IP is also a great asset to warriors but again groups believe DKs to be the top option .
Yep perception is everything in pugs. On my 1k io rogue I’ve been invited to 100% of groups I’ve queued for, for a very long time. Honestly can’t remember ever getting declined.
On my 1.4k io DH (dps) it’s an absolute nightmare getting into any premade 10+. Same for my tanks. My 1.1k io bear tank struggles like hell to get in a group, unless they’re bottom of the finder and been waiting ages (usually a trash group doing a 10 key wanting 1.2k+ score, when leaders got 500 io). And my 900io DK gets Insta invited to everything. Even keys out my league lol.
It probably worth noting that the tank ranking also comes with it’s own expectations, ie if you jump on a dk people will have higher expectations of you than if you turn up as a bear. Which isn’t a great thing for new tanks.
And yes I am aware of the irony that I’m posting this from a dk, but I rarely tank these days.
Priest Tanking really should be a thing.
We get the blame for most wipes anyway, so we might as well get blamed from the front too for any situation that doesn’t turn out to be just a perfect day.
Today I’ve tanked my first mythic + with my monk. it was an easy +6 UR. This made me realising how stupidly easy is tanking with paladin … monk has no range group pulls, no range silence/interrupt, a siren kept blazing in my ears to restore the brew , no bubbles, no full heal with one click, this bloody stagger draining my life like a flushed toilet.
This is a tank, the one who doesn’t use cheap tricks relying only on its skill and trying to adapt on harsh situations.
Ring of peace might be useful, but not against bosses.
To answer my friend up there, if you want to play safe and easy go DK and paladin.
If you want to be remembered as good player go with the rest. If you can manage to finish on time with a Druid or monk you’re the best around Daniel San. Now wax on and wax off.
im gonna go with warrior
