Which tank is your favourite?

I wasn’t going to level my Monk (was 35 earlier today, now 41), but it was quite fun from a movement perspective.

I used to play a DK so got used to tanking when needed but ultimately I find it hard to really enjoy tanks that don’t have a shield…

I know that’s weird to say, it just feels right.

But maybe I’m not being fair and haven’t tried Bear, DH, Monk and DK enough.

I wish i could like the wow community enough to tank for them but my general contempt for humanity prevents such a interaction

from what little i tanked in wrath of the lich king (OG) not crapstic I really liked paladin tanking

Fair play :joy:

I do tend to prefer healing myself.

But I always level a tank as well, plus it helps in dungeons rather than queuing as DPS.

brewmaster has always been my favourite…

but prot paladin is the class i always end up on.

my logs show me as a newbie pleb…

but i probably tanked more games and years than a lot of people here … lol…

tank is my thing.

I like the simplicity of prot paladin, although I guess from a basic level, no tanks are that hard to play with all the AoE at their disposal these days.

My warrior and paladin are both taurens so I can have the biggest shield possible :joy:

yeah prot paladin is the easiest to play imo… very simular to DK actually thinking about it…

but i love kiting on a brewmaster… can’t beat it

My fav tank is a prot pala.

All tanks are pretty easy to play but they are hard to play well. The difference between a tank played and a tank played well is night and day. A prot paladin in really good hands is a sight to behold. They are utility bots, a sac here, a freedom there and a quick off heal, all while interrupting most of a pull on their own.

“Which tank is your favorite?”

The ones that pull big, hold aggro, and do not die.

I meant to play, but fair point

From a healer perspective, the one that does not bounces his health full time and gets globalled from 100 to 0. I think that is the bear

Brewmaster and Protladin.

Visually I prefer Brewmasters. Playstyle-wise I prefer pro paladin because they are a tank, healer and DPS in one. A well played prot paladin is on a whole new level of existence compared to every other tank in the game.

I play brewmaster primarily however, as I enjoy playing all three specs of mine on it. Mistweaver over Holy paladin these days.

VDH has been pretty damn good for most of shadowlands, and it was a decent pick in late BFA, VDH continues to look great going into Dragonflight.

For me, it looks like this:

Solid Meatwall with DOOM Music: Protection Warrior

“Healers are optional”: Blood DK

Fun to play, plenty of tricks up their sleeves and encourages multitasking to spice things up: Brewmaster

I will carry you all through this key, on my own back with my blessings and out-heal the healer: Protection Paladin

I just want spam 1-2 buttons and watch netflix while doing it: Guardian Druid

Same as guardian druid, but edgy: Vengeance Demon Hunter

Favorite for me is Brewmaster and Demon Hunter, Guardian Druid was my main tank a few years back

Guardian druid! i even mained it all of SL!
thought i might be going for healer next xpac!

Back in the day when you could spam keg smash or whatever the skill was called I found monk tank quite funny… Was just rolling around everwhere and spammed that skill.
Not that I was even remotely good of course… Was just leveling up with 2 irl friends and we’d invite 2 randoms and I’d roll around dungeons aggroing EVERYTHING! Was funny while it lasted.

They changed the skill some time later and I never played brewmaster again.

Protection paladin is honestly my favorite due to my love of utility skills and being able to heal & support my party as a role different than a healer. I’m by no means amazing at it but it’s just fun to play.

Vengeance demon hunter & blood death knight are close seconds, the self sustain is addicting. You also have plenty of utility on both as well that can make your party adore you should you know how to use it.

The three is looking good, even if it’s really a 2.5.

King Tiger! It was a fearsome beast in its hayday… if there was enough petrol to run it of course. Generally, the owners were lacking in that department

Oh wait… tanks ingame.

Probably Protadin is my favorite, followed by Prot Warriors. It’s the two specs I enjoyed in any expansion I played (namely Wotlk, BfA and briefly in SL) and they were both easy to use and had a reasonable number of keybinds.
The former has a ton of utility and the latter boasts very strong mitigations and the unique spell reflect which opens up a clever use of game mechanics. (I saw an all tank timed +25 where the “main” tank heavily relied on spell reflection to kill bosses.) :smiling_face_with_tear:

That, and a few close friends of mine also play Protadin. My cousin was also fond of them.

Demon hunters are easier to heal because of their self healing. So as a healer, I say DH but death knights are also good.
