Actual schizo in the wow forums
Yeah, it isn’t much at the moment. Especially when you have to make two useless hops without getting a node. That’s 2 Vigor gone.
OTOH, it’s not so often or so annoying that it’s worth a thread, IMHO.
If people want to fly at snail speed, just let them. At least prices will go down with all the bots and multiboxers.
Honestly this. Occasionally I do have to take a 30 second pause at the bottom of the Azure Span if I’ve been flitting along the coastline, but that’s only on my double gathering character who stops a lot.
But of course, if I realise I’ve launched with only 2 vigor left and it’s on the level…
…I do this, twice, and then swoop, and regen more on the move than it cost. It’s possible to botch the manoeuvre, but mostly it works.
Running out of vigor often is pilot error. Dragonriding is by far faster than old school, including stops.
Tbh, my biggest request for it is that I’d like an airbrake so I can slow down instead of circling three times at 800% speed to find that titan touched herb.
If you face directly down and use skyward ascent, it cancels all your speed.
I legit did not know that! Thanks!
In case you do not know it also has a hidden 30 sec cooldown
It gets a bit better when you get the profession perk that allows gathering while mounted, but before that, it’s sometimes tedious especially in the last areas where you have 1 vertical kilometer to ascend between some parts of the region
while i’m a big fan of the new dragonriding system
once i started dragonriding on a miner/herbalist alt i understood that dragonriding and gathering professions do not work well together.
Totally agree
the 10% vigor recharge talent needs a buff or a complete rework
mining a node should recharge a full vigor charge
I was lucky enough to see a video that told me to prioritize getting gathering while mounted above anything else before I started spending knowledge elsewhere.
To be fair, there’s not much at the top of those mountains anyway But you can pretty much do the ascent in one go with maxed dragonriding, you just need to level out now and then to regen. 5x skyward ascent, shallow glide, repeat. Keeping 1 vigor in reserve in case you bork it, of course. I do suspect a lot of complaints are from people who run their tank empty rather than those who take action early.
It is nice… but personally, if I was doing it again (and I may on other characters because it’s a lot of xp while levelling!), I’d unlock elemental mastery first. By the time you have 40 knowledge points to enable gathering while mounted, you’ve long since passed 50 skill - and in the meantime, you were gaining extra knowledge from those elemental nodes. Just sit on the knowledge you gain until you have 50 skill
Have you even used that ability? it’s completely useless and makes no difference so stop talking about things you are completely clueless about
I see, this way you benefit from the XP from the discoveries from overloading without actually spending any knowledge.
True. It happened to me once tho and it was annoying
Exactly. As a guildie explained to me; you just unlock the tab, and now you can overload nodes and get knowledge and materials. That’s all you do. You don’t invest any points in it.
By the time you have 40 knowledge, you are long past 50 skill for your 2nd tab - and probably nowhere near 100 skill. Which is why you don’t want to be me, who left elemental mastery to last with mining
I took elemental at skill 50 so it did help me get the knowledge in time but it definitely did not help me level faster
No, it’s more of a double gathering is good for xp in general. I did the main campaign and barely any side quests. I don’t think there’s a particular specialisation will help beyond that.
You, sir, are mental. If xou have max flying its impossible to make pause for regen vigor.
Move to your destination point on ground while waiting vigor regen.
I think I will not level alts until they cut down the XP needed to go 70 until one can do 60-70 with just the main quests and nothing else.
It will also be more efficient to get renown much later
