Whispering Opposite Faction - How does it work?

Sometimes I am able to whisper people from the opposite faction - particularly in battlegrounds. This doesn’t always work though, and I don’t really understand what the condition is for being able to whisper someone from the opposite faction.

Does anyone know how it works? Are we supposed to be able to whisper anyone cross faction now?

Are you sure they truly are from the opposite faction and not mercenaries of your own faction?

Yeah definitely opposite faction. I actually just tried right now with someone who is on Ravencrest (Alliance) outside of a battleground, and it lets me whisper them. They aren’t a Battletag friend either.

Think its when your in a group with them

It does not work as intended and is currently quite random, yet you should be able to whisper cross-faction when:

  • You are in the same party or raid (BGs if anyone have been MC will also activate whispers).
  • You have recently interacted in whispers, so you can communicate even after the disbanding until relog.
  • If you are the groupleader you can initiate a whisper conversation with people in que (works 25% of the time)

Then you got a lot of random events, where you can whisper eachother no problem and at will. Then another time you can no longer whisper eachother at all, even if in the same group.

It is quite wild yo.
