A few months ago Blizzard said it’s coming with Dragonflight “or even before that”. Well, the “before that” part clearny hasn’t happened… but even with DF’s release, it’s nowhere to be seen. Not part of the PTR, not part of the pre-patch, and no info on it.
What gives? Is this cancelled, or was it trolling all along so players would fill their bank space with gray trash?
Wondering about this too. I’ve been saving some white loot for a while.
I hope it won’t get cancelled - certain white items do look great imo, like the Sun Cured set from the belf starting area.
Maybe there’s a problem with how exactly the appearance would be added or something, because you have to equip BoEs to collect the look whereas there’s no need for it when a dungeon/raid drop is concerned.
I think it’s postponed because there are probably a lot of white/grey tmog they have to account for and that takes time. We are still are missing WOD tmog gear upgrades, Heritage armor sets for other races, Mage Tower will come back later also. It’s just now they have to get ready to finish DragonFlight launch. If we are lucky we might get some news this year.
It’s not on the beta. 
Would you expect otherwise from Blizzard?
I created 5 bank alts myself for this purpose, one for each armour type and the last one for weapons.
I didn’t bother finding their exact statement on the matter, but if memory serves me right what was said was that they’re working on it to be available sometime down the line during DF. I don’t remember anything about it being available on release.

This reminds me of when they promised Hidden Gloves but they didn’t happen when the new expansion launched and a lot of disgruntlement ensued.
Although they did add this feature in later (along with hidden everything else).
Hopefully it is just a delayed feature which will come with a patch during DF, 10.2 maybe.
Probably, with how the release of DF is panning to be, white and gray mogs are probably the least of their worries right now.
I’d have preferred if they delayed DF until they are actually ready (and hopefully rewrite the god awful story), and focus on things that would actually improve the game… like gray and white mogs
