Their former Queen, Azshara? The Legion? Or Sylvanas?

I hope they hate tyrande the most. She made a badass race into hippie treehuggers. And also the entire val'sharah is enough to let all races hate her.
Don't get me wrong, night elves we see today, no matter their devotion (Elune, nature, arcane or demon hunting) are a noble lot that fight all forms of evil, having experienced the worse kind.
They've twice been nearly wiped out, the first was the largest, by the legion itself (before the sundering, the demons marched across their lands and cities and slaughtered countless), and since then, the legion was the reason for the long vigil, the reason that long vigil group couldn't use the arcane to rebuild and restore themselves, the reason the arcane using groups in Suramar and Eldre'thalas hid in isolation, the reason the high elves get banished, the reason they lose their immortality and are weakened.
Sylvanas is the reason they've lost Kalimdor and Teldrassil burnt alive the last remaining population of night elves.
But Azshara, Azshara is the reason the Legion marched across the world. Azshara's Naga have also emerged in every night elven occupied zone in Kalimdor and the Broken isles, seeking to conquer and take everything back from the night elves.
Who do you think the night elves hate most? And who would they be most hyped to take down?

That was blizzard really, and they have started making up for it somewhat in Legion where we saw a lot of cool non forest treehugger aspects of the night elves, including an original pre sundering city, powerful arcane wielders like the nightborne, Farondis and Moonguard, badass night elven demon hunters and very none tree hugger Wardens. And in BFA.
Legion was a much better representation of night elves, druids were one zone, not all zones, and we saw a lot of Elunes temples and night elven arcane stuff too.
New players who come into the game at legion would have a much better idea of the night elves than those who only had classic to go by or cataclysm. Night elves in Legion and BAG are shown much stronger than in cata or classic.
However blizzard do have a long way to go before they make up for the long neglect and the poor portrayals, not to mention the huge losses and tragedies with no offsets of anything amazing. Being co ok again is a start, but it has to extend beyond Malfurion and Tyrande, beyond the druids and the sentinels, to the npcs, the highborne, the priestesses - and also it has to be consistent, with night elves showing up and doing very well, being their especially for their lore related villains like Azshara, and not forgotten about like they were in the final push against the legion.
Also with no home now, they need to show them getting one, building something great with their new unity and togetherness, make it special , and then there is the matter of their immortality, well of power, world tree, emerald dream, Elune Tec.
So there is a lot to go

You mistake her being a real person responsible for her actions, it's actually Blizzard who does this, my guess the Nathanos guy lead narrative designer, who tries to push all kinds things about the story and characters currently to make them !@#$ (%^-* translates to good stuff for him).
I think it should be Azshara, it should have been the legion, but they went with Khadgar and Velen, draenei and class orders, so we shoukd see night elves for Azshara
I really hope the fires of vengeance of the night elves burn hot against their Queen.
She is an even bigger enemy to night elves than Kael'thas was to blood elves or Arthas to humans, for letting in the legion and altering the course and life of all elves forever.
Directly, her Naga have harried night elf kind since they emerged from the sea, but it's a good thing it happened she can finally be brought to justice.
First in line would be the Farondis - I hope somehow Prince Farondis plays a key role.
Then Tyrande, I want her to finish off Azshara, old queen to new queen., Malfurion had the first victory and Elune backed Tyrande versus old God backed Azshara.
I know Sylvanas isn't going down and the darnassian night elves are first in line to give her a bit of a dust off, and i hope they saveit for when they power her up again so she has someone to be afraid off,
But it is Azshara the fury of the Kaldorei and shal'dorei should be spent, and I want to see them at it, was well disappointed with the lack of night elves in the Legions final send off, if they did that for Azshara and cut the night elves out because they did a 1 warfront on them, I will go ape. It's like not making humans the centre of the fight against Arthas, or blood elves not at the heart of the fight against Kael'thas.
Agreed. I don't think there is anyone on the writing team truly passionate about Night elves.

They are giving Wardens to Horde in 8.1, because of ofcourse they are, Wardens are cool and badass and dark and cool and cool so Horde deserves them too, but with red eyes and darker armor tint! Sylvanas is currently browsing races in catalogue, and who ever she choose, kills and then resurrects, for some reason they instantly love her and want to back her up, and like retards they blame their own former kin for what Sylvanas just did.

I'm no fan of Maiev, but her character played a role that was different to the typical Darnassian kaldorei, you need someone like that in white knight groups. She has become more appealing because your typical night elf was weak, or rather shown weakly, and so people flocked to her strength because she was one of the only night elves for the dark ages of neglect between classic and legion that actually came off as strong and in the original wc3 vein, that didnt seem changed.
I predict she will lose a lot of fans now the Kaldorei are being portrayed stronger , unless she is Also included with reformed views.
But I would love to see the warden played, the warden i feel can work well as the night elf rogue elite class . It does seem a specialised form of the rogue class, intelligence officer, scout/hunter, using glaives and feints, movung through the shadows.
Night elf classes have their unique versions, priests have the Moon Priestesses, mages the Highborne mage or Moonguard, warriors the sentinel, rogues the Warden, druids the Balance Druid. All of these have a very unique night elven visualization from the human or typical races version of the class. In truth all of the druid class and the demon hunter class are a night elven visualization, as we first saw those classes uniquel at night elves before spreading to other races, but their priest, mage and warrior class have their own unqiue versions of these as befits an ancient race that is credited with the first mage or at least where the mage gets its definition from and has one of the oldest priesthood too, a race whose culture filled the world and was quite unique for being nocturnal, peaceful and magical.

It's exactly how i felt when they gave horde nightborne - so they do a night elf race with a really cool city and powerful arcane users, and nope, too good for alliance so has to go horde, to hell with the consequences.
One just hopes they end up giving alliance night elves either something better - like a new and nicer city, portray their arcane users very well or swing most of the nightborne over to the alliance converting them to kaldorei and with them suramar.
It is really annoying to see the horde get alliance racial stuff and get it better and cooler than the alliance faction - at the very least it should be even - but then maybe it is, and they just haven't shown us or highlighted what they are going to compensate the alliance night elves with. I don't want the night elven arcane lore best represented on the horde, it's a smack in the face to night elves who've loved all their lore and waited for ages to see the arcane properly restored with as much prominence, expertise and respectability as druidsm or elunism and reflecting the sort of mastery the lore hints at.
I just hope the core of the demon hunters stays night elven, and it doesn't shift to blood elves or another race. I dont mind other races having it, i don't mind the horde even sharing it. But it is a kaldorei thing, and the best version of night elf things should be where the night elves are with the night elves. Not exported to the enemy or done better or more attractive for them.
