So who else has gone back to Obliterate. I’m just wondering who has ditched the bos or ice cap builds and have returned to old faithful. I have and I couldn’t be happier. I know number wise it’s not quite there with breath but I know when we hit 58 and get lvl 2 killing machine we will be pretty much identical.
So who else?.
Obliterate hits like a wet noodle atm , maybe it’s the scaling but frost strike does more dmg , this does not seem normal .
Something is definitely fishy here. It crits for 800-900. Any spell on a freshly dinged alt crits higher. What is going on?
Could any of you share your oblit build with me. I’m worried I haven’t chosen the right ones.
Went back to icecap since I still have ok crit rating and azerite traits. Obliterate is complete trash and a total waste of time at the moment, it can only get better at 58. I keep hearing that prepatch balance doesnt matter but if that was the case then why completely gut it for the patch? Fun detected I guess.
on my 109 ilvl frost dk the tooltip is like 440 dmg obliterate , 600 + frost strike , i do have 44 % mastery
On a lvl 60 on the Beta with 10% increase Obliterate dmg legendary and full upgraded honor gear.

KM Crit - 5.184 Frost

Is this high or low? I am not sure what a mortal strike does, or a chaos bolt? Any chance you have some numbers I could compare with?
if it’s any info i got its anectdotal, templars verdisct crits for 2100 on a lvl 43 pala in full looms. think about that
Mortal Strike is about double the non KM damage, Chaos Bolt is also between 8 - 12k and Templar’s Verdict hits about twice the amount and 4 times the amount during burst.
I can’t bring myself to play the underdog spec in an already underdog class.
