Who has seen New Savix video?

They didn’t listen to us.
No mobility improvement, no long arm of the law, no emancipation, no magic shield… but more burst.
To be honest as a Ret I love big numbers and watching the new Savix video kind of exited me… but I’d rather have a more sustainable damage and more mobility instead of being an explosive can of beans.
If they kept things the way they are in beta we would be acceptable both in pvp and pve and even if the Night Fae’s blessing are crap, the travel form looks really good for us.
Are they gonna seriously nerf our dmg like every expansion?

I think a lot of rets would like this. But then I think, why not just play Warrior? Because that’s what you’ve just described.

I agree completely I always hated that with a ret you surge the dps then 30 seconds later it’s over and she’s throwing you out and calling you a disappointment

It’s not fun in pve either. The inconsistency of the dps output. Especially if our cd’s are not lining up with the fight mechanics or raid buffs.

Just wait.

That burst will be short lived.

I would expect ret paladin being “fixed” when Mythic launches. And then ret is once again, left in the dust, along side with enh/elem sham, survival hunt, WW monk.

I agree in pvp its realy not enjoyable exp to be immobile glass cannon who is running around pillar. But in pve? Its extremely useful dmg profile also burst class is less uptime reliant, which is very good for immobile spec. You realy dont want to deal the same kind of consistent dmg as furry warrior, we would be death class then.

Now joined by havoc dh. The supposed-to-be-bad-specs and if theyre not bad the whineres gonna scream NERF until blizz obeys

Dh kind of deserved a bit of tuning though

why did you think they would? they stated time again that more mobility would go against their vision for the class

Outside those 10 seconds every few mins we’re just immobile glass, the cannon being nowhere to be seen.

They have no vision.

they do and they call it class fantasy and it’s not going away  if you want mobility try another class

That’s bad class philosophy then. It’s like arms warrior being “A master of weapon that hit slowly but hard” -> ending up with a really clunky and unfun rotation. That kind of class fantasy is not fun.

I do agree that Paladin should not be as mobile as a rogue, but I wished we had more and better defensive tools than rogues. Having a sligth buff to Paladin mobility would not transform it into a monk !

oh i agree its a terrible fantasy but the fact is that they are unlikely to bend on it in our class designers mind we are suppose to be this slow but hard hitting knights or something maybe the death knight designer is his or her twin

And that’s why I’m going for both dk and warrior in SL. I still don’t understand why these classes are more consistent at being a support than ret paladin is in SL.

At least, DK is getting more baseline ranged spells (Exorcism please, by the light for ret)

pve: execution sentence ,final reckoning both 60sec. Wake of ashes, seraphim 45 sec. Wings 2 minutes and Ashen Hollow which is very real becouse of how strong it is 4 minutes.

pvp: is pretty much same just wings seems to be around 1,45 cus nightfae and Ashen hollow is useless outside rated bgs i presume.
So the variety and chance for planning is here and its realy higher uptime then you mentioned, worst thing then cooldown uptime will be 15 buttons in our rotation for many players.

ashen hollow is very specific becouse of its directly benefits only from seraphim and indirectly (buffed hammer, crit and dmg ) from wings ,execution sentence, reckoning when you will line up this one with last 3 mentioned your benefit will not be as to big, so you can relatively use it as heal/dmg or aoe cleave cooldown, without to heavy dps loss (potency to throw hammer from ashen hollow will compensate a dps loss a bit)

Even without and nerfs, Execution Sentence is an 8-second time bomb. How soon will it be before people learn to work around it?
DK using their anti-magic shield at the right time will negate it completely. Other classes with cd’s that negate incoming damage like hunters, rogues, priests can easily negate it too to some extent. And it’s magic, so can it be dispelled?

How soon would it take players to learn to counter it?

forever the average player can’t counter crap and will go on the forum and whine that we are op and we will get nerfed again
