OK so I have just finished reading Shadows Rising and left wondering: is the character Apari just a book creation or was there any mention of her in Horde side of questing experience? She seems to be an important character that was even part of Battle for Dazaralor but when i ran lfr Horde version of raid there isnt any mention of her. It just seems weird to create a character for the book out of nothing and give it backstory that conflicts with the in-game story. So if someone can help me understand I would appreciate it.
She’s a new character.
It’s a character made to tell a specific story in the book. Overall the goal of the book was to add extra flavour to the known characters, extra perspectives to the known events, etc.
Before that, blizz had a habit of placing information that was crusial to understanding the story into other media. After years of criticism the are trying something different, starting with Shadowlands and media that is part of it or is leading to the current events.
Maybe some of the book characters will appear in the game in some way. Maybe we’ll see Apari in Shadowlands. Hard to say more for now.
