Absolutely, WC3 Sylvanas had a great story arc and was one of the characters you can sympathize the most.
The mary sue version of Sylvanas is fun fic artifcial, unrelatable one
p.s. steve must read about Darth Kreia from Sith Lords to familirize himself with the concept of how talented ppl write villain arcs for strong female characters, which dont even have a romance arcs and earn respect from both male and female players for their depth and authenticity
She is inconsistent, a hypocrite and written like she has an IQ only slightly above room temperature.
I stopped hating Sylvanas long ago, I simply hate the writers for the absolute destruction of her character. They ruined her. She turned into one of the worst characters in this game narratively thanks to Danuser thinking a team of apes on typewriters equates to a good narrative team.

I think she’s a catastrophy of a character.
Blizz is putting more effort into this horrendous character than N’zoth.
I dislike her - nothing notable about her existence that wasn’t essentially ‘borrowed power’ from someone else and not her own. Even see the whole thing in the new cinematic, didn’t even try to do anything but blankly shoot an arrow and not fight back. Just like powersliding into Arthas’ blade.
But when she has to fight someone like Bolvar, Genn, or Saurfang? Haha untouchable except a small cut.
At least before Wrath I could’ve had some ‘sympathy’ and it was an ‘alright written character, definitely more evil with death to the living mindset’. After? Nah. Her writing has consistently gotten so much worse with the newer writers too, they really need the people deciding where the story goes to be gone.
The writing also made the horde look very weak, unable to fight back against tyranny and someone evil as long as they’re the ‘appointed Warchief’ and it’s DUMB.
I liked her and her vengeance for Arthas and the short story where she met him again in the voi- …Maw as a little child again. And commited suecide afterwards as her purpose for her undeath life was no more…
Then she started farming humans like crops in Hillsbrad and wanted to turn all of Stormwind Into fosaken in Before the storm. And burned Telldrassil. And all because now after Shadowlands she wants freedom for all to decide their entenity and afterlifes in the shadowlands…
Idk… Sylvanas is still a ‘‘grey’’ character too me, But she keeps messing with my expectations of her still.
Maybe being put in her place by Calia Menethil and Derek Proudmoore whose lives she ruined. I bet these two have a bone to pick with Sylvanas for what she did to them. Killing one so she ends up undead, and making the corpse of the other undead so she could have a go at Jaina… But I guess there are many who will form a queue to have a go at Sylvanas. If the story is done right Sylvanas is constantly followed by 10-20 individuals (each time different people) who “haunt her” and every time she turns to tell them to shut up her voice fails her and she poofs in a black cloud away to get away from people. Because of the story about guilt and sorrow they did with Jaina they need to do a story of a similar nature with Sylvanas.

Let’s not pretend this was just some other christmas tree tho xD this was a tree huge enough to house a capital city of an entire race.
Think people had a bigger breakdown over the people unable to differanciate that, And all the death that came from it and fanbased on it. Rather than thinking of it like just some tree. (But yes… This is fictional indeed.)
