/who Slave pens

Type that in your server, specially in night hours, the joke explains itself.

If you want to go even funnier, go to Slave Pens entrance and see the pathing of every mage that eventualy goes there.

Will Blizzard do anything any soon?

I believe blizzard will not do anything about bots and here’s why:
Let’s assume that blizzard applies a ‘magical’ fix and bans all bots instantly.

Blizzard loses:

  • A good amount of active subs (let’s say 5%)
  • Potential future boost purchases from bot players when they get banned initially
  • Potential new bot players entering game
  • Potential transfers from bots stockpilling mats, gold from servers of low demand to high demand

Blizzard wins:

  • Better game image (The target group is already established for the most part)
  • Happier customers (You play the game more and so what, you still are paying the same amount)
  • Fewer future unsubs (Maybe yes but are they really that many fewer so the wins outweight the losses? I think not, because most high-end players do not care about bots, in fact some will say it’s good for the game, ironically)
  • Regain trust with playerbase (You can’t really estimate any potential profit from the ‘trust’ index, you’ll be back for wrath won’t you?)
  • Potentia resubs (?)

I hope they prove me wrong but i doubt it.

In theory? if blizzard eliminated all bots & prevented any future bot from joining the game? some items on AH will become more expansive & since the market is already overflowed with gold? most items will not become cheaper than now, meanwhile? gold buyers who don’t farm? will struggle because gold prices will be insanely high.

in-fact
all gold buyers consider bots good for the game, so they can buy gold cheap!
all boosters & farmers who doesn’t bot? yet sell gold consider bots bad for the game.
normal players who casually play doesn’t even care about bots.

As long as there are people, who casually buying several thousands gold for their every day progress, to raid with several character there will be bots. Blizz can’t bring in token yet, due to heavy resistance to shop additions, but they will do it eventually, maybe in Wrath.

Maybe a casual player doesn’t care initially about bots untill they sh*t in his yard. It’s nice to go out to farm and don’t have to share resources with them, cause they are not only in instances.
