That’s why I think they still have something up there sleeves.
I don’t think housing was planed as a midnight feature.
There is little to no connection between the two and they even said housing got its very own team so what’s the team doing that normally does the expansion features?
I think the trailer will surprise us with another feature like a class or a race or both.
And maybe even something like this openworld hardmode they bring with legion remix.
I can see remix being a big test phase for that
It is actually great that we will visit Blood Elves again and I believe its going to take place in Quel’thalas and for that I’m quiet hyped to see Quel’thalas with new textures and contents.
sincerely im playin 1 month yes and 3 no. im not hyped about wow anymore.
ust a game to play when there’s nothin better to do (and since im in physio for my bad knees now i have nothin better to do)
I believe I am also one of those old timers who has played wow way to long to get hyped anything.
Still…curious to see what will be revealed and will probs pre-order but I wont have “sleepless nights” before the announcement or anything.
I can’t imagine they’ll update Quel’Thalas and Silvermoon, but then forgo to update ‘those other zones from TBC’. Azuremyst Isle and such and the Exodar itself; there have been mentions that the draenei are fixing their ship ingame.
If we only get blood elf centred updates, that’d be very unfair (and imo boring).
I quit the game in SL and refunded my DF preorder
But then returned in DF due to positive changes
What i witnessed in DF implied blizzard might be taking a turn from many of its mistaken policies
TWW was kind of sort of also hopeful, that blizzard can change? maybe?
but now based on midnight details so far as well as late TWW, it seems like blizzard are colapsing back into their old self
its very visible in last patch, how their hands are itching to add a new borrowed power
hopium crowd will hope, gloomers will set the lowest bar
i personally will speculate
i think, midnight can still be good, if blizzard has some secret center piece feature.
so that blizz can say, actually midnight is about X and so it will be dope, and the housing is not ready and we will push it off and finish it separately after midnight.
And then whether midnight can be successful depending on what that X is.
Some people say that blizzard did not have time to develop the X.
I think, its highly likely, and its not impossible, that we will just get some zones, maybe an allied race etc.
That’s already what I’m doing. And that’s what bores me to death.
There’s no way I’m leveling through the campaign.
Can’t. It’s like 5% XP bar for finishing a random battleground that lasts 15/20 minutes, and it’s literally impossible to get into one during the leveling, it’s a dead format outside of max level.
Guild Wars 2 is nice for this because low level characters are scaled to 80 and you can really level up doing only PvP.
I better see some garrison features with the new housing features, i never disliked garrisons the issue was lack of things to do outside garrisons which is no longer an issue anymore, and i doubt it will be next expansion.
exactly.
i keep explaining the TDU SC housing crisis to people. TDU 2 housing had a lot of features and then in TDU SC housing the features were cut. The game release failed partly because of that, steam reviews were lower than the ocean bed level.
Its alienating people from the game, when you give them something, then take it away.
So at bare minimum, if housing comes out in midnight, it better be at least as good or better than garrisons
Ok if i was taking the smart approach some smart people are offering here, i.e. “expect the worst” or “never hyped again”, which are 100% correct btw, my version of that would be something like:
Dont expect blizzard to rock the boat, meaning expect no novelty, and expect laser focus on mythic. Also means expect safe bland decisions, such as trying to increase playtime by adding more grind. Also means expect shop
Because the main feature of the next expansion will be player housing, my expectations for the Midnight expansion are extremely low.
I play WoW for M+ and raids. I enjoy collecting tier set transmogs on alts and sometimes I even do a bit of PvP to farm conquest for transmogs. But hanging around in some sharded player housing district to RP? Naw, doesn’t interest me.
I’m hoping that Blizzard will simplify class complexity while also limiting what addons can do to help with dungeons and raids in the upcoming expansion. Even though that’s important to me, it’s not really a sexy expansion feature, but more of a necessary product clean-up.
Vanilla 26 - 4
Outland 16 - 8
Wrath 16 - 10
Cata 14 - 7 With 7 being HC dungeons
Mop 9 -5
WoD 8 - 3
Legion 17 - 7
BfA 16 - 9 with one being not sure as i did not see it and wow head lists it.
SL 8 - 3
DF 8 - 4
TWW 9 - ?
Lately the trend is less content over all with more and more older content being reused such as the M+ pool dungeons and older expansion features such as the now used horrific visions.
I am not against asset swapping as this is a vital development tool and is also used by nearly all studios.
Just dont expect the users to be ok with the same content being done again and again. Some dungeons are now on their 3rth or 4th time being placed in a season for M+ and people get tired of that. We did Atal in BfA and then again in SL and if i am correct in S3 of TWW. It might have been used in DF as well. I dont know. I missed most of DF and only was there for S1.
