There is more dungeons and raids in the current state of WoW that people can one shot mobs/bosses in. It is not 2004 anymore, i think summoning stones are one of those features that came in very early stages of the game and is forgetten, which needs updating.
Trolling is easy to solve, just add a setting to block summoning request. We can choose if we wanna let people sit on our mounts, just like that it’s a piece of cake to prevent troll summoning.
Argus,
Broken isles.
Warlords of draenor.
MoP
and plenty more require some form of questline or gate to access

Just make 250$ mount that allows solo summoning people? Geez.
C’mon guys, it’s almost 2025, be progressive…
I was surprised to see that for recruit a friend, the summon friend option becomes unavailable at level 69 or 70, one of those two. Considering lvl 1 (or lvl 10) to 70 takes a matter of hours, it is the most pointless ‘perk’ ever.

yep and now they even have skyriding that makes everything so fast .
At least warlocks should be able to do this. Put down the summoning portal, summon your demon and order it to click on the portal just like you…

Argus, Najzatar, Zerith Mortis, Zarelek Cavern et al…
You can’t just go to any of these.
Not sure most of my alts can even get to Zarelek Cavern, unless they’ve made the access Account Wide by now.

Not at all. This isn’t about getting around the world. This is about helping someone do something. Could be a friend, could be a random group in LFG. Someone might need help to kill a rare. They might need assistance with an achievement in a dungeon that isn’t soloable.
I’d probably travel half way accross Azeroth to help a friend. But I’m far less likely to go help a random group in such a way.
Zarelek Cavern died pretty quick as players couldn’t solo much of the content there. If players could get a summon to a rare there and help someone then they’d be far more likely to do it. More likely then flying down that tunnel anyways.

Not to be rude, but this doesn’t seem like much of an issue.
Unlocking zones like Argus or WoD requires a few quests, that as you yourself pointed out, take no effort as you one-shot any hostile NPC.
If your cousin dislikes the content of the game to the point that they only like gathering and selling ores/herbs and pet battles, then perhaps they just don’t like the game?

WoW has 20 years of content. There is alot to do, disliking questing does not mean not liking WoW. He does not like this part of WoW, so he avoids it, and i have to teleport him to locked zones finding a 3rd person every time we want to get to one.
Mount collecting, pet collecting, toy collecting, transmog collecting(old raids/dungeons), mysterious contents like felcycle mount recently, herb/ore gathering maybe few more things that i can’t recall right now. I am just saying that if we did not have to find a 3rd person each time we wanna go to these zones, it would be much appreciated.
I wanna give you as an example what i had to do yesterday. Currently we both dropped Uuna secret pet in Argus. Luckily since Uuna is needed, there are some people around there, so they helped me summon him, but then we wanted to go further and unlock Uuna’s appearance. At this point i went to Eredath in Argus and waited like half an hour waiting next to the dungeon entrance(Seat of Triumvirate) hoping that someone would appear to help me summon him there. No one came, i made a few searches to see if there is any way to summon him solo, but sadly there is not. Then i found an idea, pressed O > Who > Refresh, there appeared a list of random players in different maps, i messaged like 30-40 players, some were afk, some didn’t respond, and 1 of those people responded that they could come and help me summon him there. Only after all these efforts, and wasting around 1 hour there, i was able to summon him there. So why does it have to be like this when you could just summon others solo, would it be game breaking? Not at all. It would just make our lives easier in WoW. Especially of those who plays it solo/with a single friend.
I thought this was an unintended bug, is it truly intended to not be available at the newest expansion and at the level cap?
The problem is not with summoning, its with access to the zones that are locked behind old quests.
I have always been pro removing pointless locks on old content. Just keep the quests as they are and add a portal. Whoever wants to do the questchain can suit himself.
If we use the same logic, old raids would still be locked behind attunements and allied races behind rep grind.
There is enough time sinks in the current expansion. Accessing an old raid for some mogs should not be a hassle.
Legacy raids should be easily accessible and soloable.

WoW’s traveling is so outdated. GW2 has instant teleporting for 14 years already and it has been improved since then with items like - Teleport to a friend. I still don’t understand why WoW’s dungeon/raid teleports are on such big cd.
