I think it all stems from back when WOW launched and pink bubblegum haired female gnomes would stealth up and gank players low on health doing quests. To be fair a lot of rogues did that on pvp servers, but gnomes got the most hate.

dont think people hate gnomes they just pick the low hanning fruit to make fun of and gnomes are very low hanning fruit.
nothing more nothing less, just like druids are a low hanning fruit with the chicken jokes and other stuff like that.
guessing that account for 9 out of 10 people making fun of gnomes and druids, it is because it is easy, not because they hate druids or gnomes, just like vulpera gets called furries.
if you dont understand that then i will surgest taking a step back from any computer or concol game and go be togterne with some other people, as it is some of the basic stuff about social interaction.
there really needs to happen a lot for someone to hate others and a whole race at that(som kind of indoctrination or that race/group doing a hell of a lot of bad stuff, gnomes dont fit)

The mad cow decease started when industrials decided to lower the heat used to “cook” cow remains and proceed to feed that back to living cows iirc. The process is still used today tho, just at a decently high temperature to prevent that from happening again
As for that kuru illness I had no idea (never researched it tho), but good to know.

I love them. I like the humorous touch about them, it makes me smile. I also think they have by now the best casting animation in game.
They used to be in second place after undead males, but new character models with the new casting animation changed that.
The only animals I can think of that will regularly eat their own kind are some insects. When it comes to mammals I can’t think of any. Some predators, like male lions, will kill cubs that doesn’t belong to them, but I haven’t seen it mentioned anywhere they would eat them.
I think most will actually avoid eating their own kind, possibly because of some instinctual fear which would be based upon the risk of spreading various diseases within their own kind.
If anything humans are the weird ones out since there are some cultures that practised cannibalism outside of starvation.

Maybe I am just bias but come on, Gnomes are so damn cute.
There’s nothing better than a tiny Gnome with a scary plate transmog leaping and charging around.
I like their animations and customisations and they really are my favourite race in the game! I think every class I have that can be a Gnome/Mechagnome is one of the two!
