Hello. I just started playing as a priest and see that most of the top players play as Night Elves. I remember everyone played early as Dwarves for the bleed removal or Goblins for the hast buff. But now all play Night Elves and I haven’t noticed anything useful for the priest except for the Shadowmeld (or good looking tmog, but i think pro gamers doesnt care about that) .
Maybe i dont know something else?
lots of mechanics you can meld and negate this season.
for example, galakronds fall boss3 you can completely negate the ball mechanic and make the fight a golem.
shadowmeld is a good mechanic avoider. also removes treath
you can exploit some mechanics
Good looks, speed increase and shadowmeld 
Have melds, have two melds used in a row, make last boss in BRH a joke, as he keeps just channeling his volley - yet not cast it before you are buffed
