Why alliance sucks in pvp?

Out of last 10 BGs I have played, not even once we won. Before you start saying that it’s my fault because I was in all 10 of them, it’s very obviously not. I am always in top 3 dmg dealers, I do objectives and sometimes I try to lead the group, yet people just run around like headless chickens not having any idea what is going on… Out of those 10 BGs, 5 were AB, horde always had all 5 bases while we had nothing, the 3 WSGs always ended 3:0 for the horde and in 2 EotS we did exactly one flag and had one tower for like 2 minutes, before horde controlled the whole game again… What the hell is wrong with alliance?

One toxic gnome will write you “reroll in horde to play 1 bg per hour, but quality”. For real maybe they playing in relax mode. Horde playing with passion to win, cuz next bg will be hour later

It’s a side effect of having short queue times. Players join it just because they can. As soon as it looks like a difficult match, many instantly surrender in the hopes that the next bg will be better.
Horde players who are joining the bg after waiting 1h for it are much more dedicated to make the best out of it.

Just joined completely new AV, before gate even opened 5 guys were telling the rest to just give up and let them win fast… Seriously, what the hell…

im horde, i played 3 eots so far in tbc (cant stand the queue times) and lost all 3.
the last one we got stomped 2000/0 by a non premade

This is quite anecdotal as this was not my experience with random bgs, I spammed AB’s and would lead the group and probably had around 40% win rate.

I would agree with Schmu as horde have to wait longer they probably want to make the most of it. Try to influence the bg more perhaps with vital picks on healers, interupts, using /rw is a game changer for AB as people struggle to read the chat.

Yeah /bg chat is so brain dead but turning it off is also not an option because some players make good calls. It’s good training for your brain to identify trash and ignore it while still reading the calls.

imagine if merc mode was on and the bgs were a little fun for everyone.

Instant queues - less effort. Horde try more because they’ve invested so much time just waiting to get into a BG, so they’re more determined to come out with a win. The long queue time deters casual/bad Horde players from queueing.
Better racials. There’s a reason you’ll see UD warlocks, mages and rogues everywhere in BGs.
Many good Alliance players rerolled Horde for TBC arena racials.
Those decent players that stayed Alliance probably just premade BGs.

So you’re left with terrible players who turn up in PvE spec with no idea how the BG works and fail to understand that BGs are first and foremost an objective-based game.

Yes and destroy the faction balance even further …

play at night when the kids are sleeping. It might help :stuck_out_tongue:

I play very late at night. It’s just as bad as it is during the day.

because it will resolve otherwise ? i don’t know bgs are kind of separated from the game, and the outland is kind of dead passed leveling phases, but god forbid player plays bgs as the wrong faction, i mean at this point go all the way, separate arena from horde and allies. Make the game sh%t as ever, blizzard did a good job on this.

but i don’t know people are crazy about what would happen in bgs, omg same faction are pushing buttons against each other, that’s some batsh%t crazystuff.

If you honestly don’t understand how this interlinks with faction imbalance then there isn’t much point discussing it further.

Reason for long ques is more horde queuing then alliance and your answer is to allow the imbalance to continue and not only that but further entice more players to roll horde because now there is ZERO downside and you can insta que when you feel like it…

It doesn’t resolve the core problem that there are far more horde then alliance.

The only fix that you can do now, this very moment, is reroll. Yes it is inconvenient but it is the only way to fix this currently. Blizzard will NOT implement merc or faction transfer until WOTLK when it comes as standard (faction xfer).

Coming to the forums to cry about it won’t do anything as they already gave you a way to avoid this with a paid character boost, which no doubt most of the horde moaning about this currently boosted another horde character.

okay, i’m rerolling and solve all this imbalance problem on my own ! I think blizzard should pay me at this point !

Merc mode would make it alot easier (as allianceplayer on pvpserver) to actually leave the guards behind and not get ganked.
Im wrong?

Here are the facts.

  1. Try harders are generally better at PvP. They went horde (mostly because of BIS racials).
  2. Composition. ATM Horde is LOADED with Warlocks who are very OP when in large numbers. Comparatively, Alliance has almost twice as less warlocks in every BG. Honestly, having to fight so many warlocks has killed my enjoyment of TBC PVP pretty much.
  3. Racials. Yes, racials. Horde has better racials for PVP.
  4. Map disadvantage. While AV map was generally fixed, Horde still has slight advantage in AB.
  5. INTEREST in winning. This cannot be understated. Horde will pull out all stops, just as you would too if you had to wait an hour in queue.

What? do you know what merc mode is?

It’s opting in for the other faction inside BG’s only not in the world… hence why merc would be terrible for faction balance.
