You made a mistake and released the PVP gear you said you wouldn’t release right now so the disparity between dungeon/crafted gear which can barely reach 370 and the 411 PVP geared players is absolutely unplayable.
The alliance is in fact mostly mercenaries from the horde side that are smart enough to figure out that they get faster queues that way which filters out less dedicated players as they don’t even think like this.
Your best solution is to lower pvp item level and increase it only by upgrade. For example lower it from 411 to 360, then add 10 item level per upgrade and only at 5 upgrades should it be 411. This will allow time for the disparity in gear to equalize.
Otherwise, you’ve created a system of pure torture where the geared literally slaughter the less geared in a way that’s beyond ridiculous, 2v5 and worse matchups.
So you want the SL gearing system back? No thanks. Ofc it sucks a bit to get stomped in BG’s with a fresh Lvl 70 char versus people with more than twice your max HP but you literally can get the full honor set in a few hours of playing epic bg’s and then you’re ready to go. I also went through this but I prefer this by a lot over an endless honor grind just to finally fulfill the basic requirements to properly PvP.
I mean yeah it sucks in terms of fairness that we get bonus honor but that is a system thing. We still have less people queueing for BG’s after all still I think they should remove the bonus for now. But all that matters anyway is to get the honor set ans after that you can screw epics. (Which are boring anyways imo)
Dude, not to be pushy, I want to like the game too. I do. But this does not suck, it’s a complete disaster, if you play counterstrike or league of legends or any competitive game, and every single game the enemy team gets 10000 gold extra at the beginning, that would be a disaster. It seems to be a mistake too because come on the world quest drops, the damn set is weaker than these items you can get from the vendor.
Further proof of it being a bugfest is that remember the bloody token vendor? Cause for me that vendor sells freaking pvp epics… wth, it makes no sense.
Hell the normal 340 gear I got is even better than epics from the Drakebreaker set, the epic set that drop from world quests, those go to 408 and the blue gear from the vendor goes to 411.
Further proof is the fact that you get freaking patterns for green pvp items from the chests after doing bgs… why? You can buy 1 item per bg, why would they give those, unless something went wrong.
Then again, everything is a freaking bugfest, I have a piece of Drakebreaker’s set, the blue set in the collections tab for PVP. It doesn’t even have pvp scaling on it, it’s just 350. I feel like I’m in clown world. I paid for this?
Yeah some things are off. There should be a world pvp quest when you enter the hall with the vendors on the left at the entrance but the npc isn’t there…
Just get rid of PVP gear and introduce stat templates for everyone, with an option to redistribute a certain budget of character stats as certain players might prefer. The entire point of going through this process has been ruined if you can buy a green set that is only 3 item levels below honor set and everyone has such an easy access to the most powerful items.
PVP gearing is such a dumb concept, get rid of farming so everyone can perform their best once their join the battle. It will get rid of leechers, afkers and people giving up because they’re forced to fight a player with twice the amount of HP.
PVP upscaling sort of works. Ideally you would simply downscale everyone instead (far below PVE gear levels), but that would introduce a new problem where certain classes are unplayable at a low haste/crit level.
You’re missing the point entirely. Mercenary mode is great it normally results in better balance across the board. The problem is that people can choose, and they choose the winning faction.
