Why always blame the Healer?

Hello fellow WoW players.

Sorry for another of these complains but i don’t think we can get them enough.
It just has to stop now…
Stop blaming the healer for failing or amount of healing done…

So i was in a Battleground (i can’t exactly remember which one or what its called but it does not mather) and one person started to complain i had little healing done, Then some more…
And at some point almost everybody was complaining about me!..
i just kept ignoring them all the time because i was trying to capture these control points.

Then the match was over…
And indeed my healing was pretty low but not extremely, but i understand this because i was using more tactics then healing
Then i looked at bottom DPS list there were 3 DPS players below me who had done less DPS then me!?? So they complain about me not healing while there are more players not doing any DPS? WTF

Get your facts right and don’t blame anyone for not doing anything unless your surtain of it. It has left a deep bad impression of the WoW community and how toxic it can be.

I was almost thinking of becoming a DPS character as they are almost never the blame of something, But i love being a Holy paladin to much

Enough of this complain…

becuase its easier to blame the healer instead of see their own faults.

Cos it’s your fault!! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I kid. Speaking as someone who used to be a noob and without out reading the large paragraph above, I believe the problem is that some players do not realise mechanics even when they are literally smacking them in the face. These players fall into 2 camps:

  1. People who are open to learning from others that may know more than them.
  2. People who believe they have nothing to learn and therefore believe the problem is someone else.

In thier defence though the default ui is awful at showing mechanics.

Why would you go off on your own as a healer without trying to communicate to the rest of the team?

I’m not saying it’s your fault and they’re right to complain about your healing because I wasn’t there but when a healer is nowhere near the team the entire game it doesn’t matter if you’re capping bases when the rest of the team is dying because you’re not there to help.

It’s a two-way street.

Well it started in Vanilla where bosses had hardly any mechanics and tanks didn’t have active mitigation they needed to keep up. And there weren’t really any tank mechanics that tanks had to deal with. So only way a tank could die was if healers didn’t heal him.

This is a he said/she said situation. Maybe the DPS were so low because they were concentrating on trying not to get killed? Maybe they thought you were going to throw them some heals as they DPSed?
Of course I could just be salty…Ive literally just done a dungeon with a monk who only used soothing mist (often just on himself). Needless to say we all died lots!

That’s the rule you always blame the healer for failing and hunter for ninja pulling.

And you’ve just encountered the DPS phenomenon, and you’ll see it in PvE content too. They see that their role is to just throw themselves at the enemy and mash buttons, and if they die, then it must’ve been the healer. Very little thought goes beyond that.

I’ve been kicked from LFR during bosses where tanks need to aggro swap, they don’t, we wipe repeatedly and therefore it must be the weakest healer. Healers are omniscient, they see everything that goes on. Tanks and DPS are often oblivious (DPS dying a lot so Tanks blames healers, Tanks not doing the mechanics etc so DPS blames Healers) unless they’re the guilty party, in which case, they’ll play the herd off against you and shift blame.

It’s something that has always existed in WoW, and almost every other multiplayer game with roles too. It’s not new.

In random bgs alot of people tend to join as healer and then try to dps enemies down.

Cant really say how your situation/healing done was, but it happens alot that healers slack. Even when i keyboard turned and clicked skills without any add-ons i often managed to easily be the top healer.

when i started keybinding properly i often got the highest healing done even when i was just doing other things half the bg

The same things happens with dps being half afk but they get away more easily with it because their name is hidden behind a huge list of dps.

But as someone who mostly heals bgs nowadays i do feel like you either actually got to heal or just join as a dps. I have seen way too many "healers"being outhealed by warriors and rogues

I don’t know. to be honest, usually blame goes to someone who fails the mechanic or deals really low damage.

Never seen a blame on healer, unless they mess up.

Battleground on the other hand, It’s just that people want to go superman and when they die, have to blame someone else because obviously they didn’t do anything wrong. So it’s healer’s fault.

There are always people in battlegrounds that complain about stuff. Yet they don’t do much themselves.

They command people to do that and that but don’t do it themselves.

Kinda silly

Yeah its hard to tell without footage. People tend to go suicidal and run out of range of healers thats true. But on the other hand there tons of people who join as healer and cast maybe only a handful of heals all game and just charge off for 1 vs 1 fights themselves.

Because most spoiled dps who see themsefs being top of the list by pressing A-B-C think they rule the whole world. They would never admit their mistakes.

Also healer job is to pet both tanks and dps, needs a hard stomach i guess

I’ll admit this, yesterday I was leveling a warlock and I forgot to dismiss my imp before jumping down in gnomeregan. He pulled everything, but a hunter was in my group too and he got blamed and kicked. I’m a bad person.

No one thought about me being a warlock, and before I could say anything, they kicked him out.

“You no peel, I no heal.” Macro it. Oh and… “I got cc’d like… 8 times! 9! 10 CC! Oh gods, now I feel dirty.”.

Oh, and “LoS”. Often takes them a while to search what it means, so you get a few minutes of beautiful silence.

Scenarios like this is why I started drawing, it’s both sad and hilarious at the same time.

“Y-yeah that dumb hunter…

you found a pretty salty group then, unless it happened alot of times already. whenever that happens in a group im in people are always like “lol” and then just go back and do it over properly. or most of the time actually kill all the mobs that got pulled

Yea they were, they got mad when we made a detour to kill Grubbs (apparently the tank was new) and started complaining about losing time too, while I tried to say it was just a little extra exp. They looked rather nervous overall, it isn’t always like that though.
