We already have there models of her brothers, her mother and father and them too not so kultiran tho..
That’s actually a strange decision because it should have been a human customization option, not a complete separate allied race, same as for mag’hars btw
I don’t think things should be discussed in this depth with this game. It’s just an aesthetic change, no need to delve into lore and try to justify things in some weird way.
Bulkier humans are a good addition. Thick thighs save lives.
Take a quick walk round the city of Boralus - and it will soon become apparent that Kul Tirans come in all shapes and sizes from the very large (allied race) - through “normal Stormwind” sized - and even short and skinny.
In fact if Blizzard ever decides to expand the number of body size options for their races - they won’t have far to look for inspiration for humans!
Kul Tiras was originally settled by Gilnean sailors - and it’s highly likely that the Proudmores are distant relatives of the (pre-worgan curse) Greymanes.
The larger Kul Tirans are likely due to co mingling with Drust Thornspeakers - who were originally Vrykul and are probably fairly uncommon.
It’s kindda weird. Kul’Tirans as we know them should have been additional body types on humans, but of course that would require them to make body types actually body types instead of a thinly veiled substitution for sex.
More examples of things that should be body type include upright orcs.
Maybe she was the inspiration for “I’m a barbie girl” song.. or wait, think that was way before WoW ![]()
In reality, all Kul Tirans ingame are children of the Ashvanes.
Is Jaina Barbie girl? I guess she is

They are, though - the Gilneans are the ones that aren’t. Gilneans are just regular humans from Southern Lordaeron, what makes them different is that some of them have been inflicted with the Worgen curse. Kul Tirans - at least the playable large ones - actually have Drust ancestry mixed in, which makes them very different to regular humans. They are that tall and strong for a reason.
Technically, not every Kul Tiran has Drust ancestry. The Proudmoores, among others, are just regular humans. Jaina’s mother and father also are just that, regular humans. There’s really not much more to it than that, there’s no “lore friendly excuse” needed.
KT was a DEI feature as an allied race, introduced during the fatshaming/bodypositivism period few years ago.
It’s why there is no playable thin or medium body KT even there are NPCs like that in the game.
This was confirmed to be players’ theory, not official lore.
If they’re so big cause of drust, why we can then see also skinny kul tirans in game? (not playable, but we have NPC’s who are skinny, regular and then big kul tiran)
Thanks for making things political … but also, what’s wrong having more options in game?
yeah tehy need something to amke them specail to sell them as allied race, so the palyabel one get bulky.
I mean, we met a few Kul tirans befor Bfa, in durtar horde palyer fight normal human (Kul Tirans) on allince side we saw , at least theri ghost in wetland at the wreckage of the thrid fleet
and later some in Legion in Aszuna with the sea giants
You mean having thin Kul Tirans?
Oh wait we dont have them
Thornspeaker’s questline tell us that the last thornspeaker drust interbred with humans until they became diluted. Interestingly we see normal humans and others with gigantism.
I’ts possible the big ones have drust genes, because their size is inusual. They measure 2.5meters…
Is that so? Interesting. I remember this being thrown around a lot back then.
A few players came up with this independently at the time as they tried to rationalise the difference. It was a relatively plausible theory all told.
But the existence of the Kul Tiran thin model Human kind of put the dampeners on that, and I do believe there is official confirmation SOMEWHERE it isn’t the case. The real answer is that they simply used the Kul Tirans as a way to get a strong(wo)man human model into the game.
