Ice lance is used on a procc and the other is just extra dmg? It stacks up to five but if you cast frost bolt instead of ice lance the extra icicle get shot either way so its never wasted.
Unlike a real B/S class like say ret with holy power if you use CS when having 5 HP you get a dps loss
Ice Lance an ability that you can spam without cooldown, but we can empower our ice lances by getting a fingers of frost proc that allows our ice lance to hit the target and deal triple damage, again a proc not a spender.
Icicles are things that passively accumulate by casting frostbolt and they also automatically cast when you use an ice lance, regardless if you have 1 or 5. Icicles basically get ignored completely as it does it’s thing passively. When you reach 5 icicles and you gain another one, that one gets fired off automatically
