Why are BFA consumables still expensive as hell?

And here you give the answer without even realising it. Cheapest herbs are around 15 gold each on the AH, 14 x 15G = 210 gold per potion. They are currently selling for under that on my server, so unless you get lucky on crafting procs, it’s already not worth crafting and selling potions over just selling the raw herbs…

Also, one single potion won’t get you very far and you need specific herbs for the potions, which just happen to be the exact herbs the multibox trains are targeting, be it to make gold or to feed their guild consumables.

1 hour of herbing will get you around 10k worth of potions to sell with current prices, 17 hours of herbing to get you a token, which will save you GBP 10 irl, you do the math and see if it’s worth your time…

to justify pots being as expensive as flasks?

Well, I think you just burnt this topic to the ground, no way flasks are 210 gold on any server or even close to equal. I believe they are 1.6k here (make them myself, so idk really).

I feel sorry for you, last batch of flasks I sold I had to sell for 400 gold a piece… Or maybe I should feel sorry for myself for not getting prices like that.

Really? Gosh, ok, then this server is seriously dead. My bad.

When did you last check, prices seriously crashed with the release of 8.1.5 last week. Seriously, they were cut in half within 2 days.

2-3 days ago :stuck_out_tongue: but I shall recheck it soon.

flask atm on my server 420g . potions are 380g per one go figure .

Like I said before, it’s the siren’s pollen, only flask of the undertow requires it, the other flasks don’t, while the battle potions of agility and intellect both require it. Battle potion of strength doesn’t, but that one generally also is cheaper to buy.

Siren’s pollen is hard to farm. There are areas where it spawns more reliably, but these areas are usually heavily farmed by multiboxers.

Alright, I visited the AH. It certainly has reduced a little but there’s still a significant difference.

Flasks: 900-1800 Gold
(Offensive) Potions: Anything between 150 and 400 Gold each.

As an Alchemist I can promise Prolonged Power from Legion was far easier to craft, and felt better, than the BFA potions.

Bots had nothing to do with that.

Legion pots were also far more expensive than WoD and MoP potions though, which had a lot to do with bots, as well as the easiness of the MoP farm and WoD garrison garden.

I barely played MoP and WoD, so cannot comment on that, but I had a thousand Potion of Prolonged Power left when Legion launched, and could still craft more. Used hundreds to level to 120. To me this rate felt far more worthy than what we have now. For every BFA potion I use, it feels like I am wasting them. The time used to craft them(time spent farming mats) is not worth the time they’re used. It feels horrible.

Tbh. the consumables prices are really low on Tarren Mill right now, the herbs literally cost more than the pots/flasks themselves.
You’re gonna get a lot less gold by making pots/flasks than you would by just selling the herbs unless you get ridiculous procs.

The AH is irrelevant to some of us. I farm and craft for own use only, and BFA potions are horrible compared to Legion. They are not worth the mats.

kinda sucks to still be burning through like 10k per raid in pots this late into the expansion. at least they’re 300g a pop instead of 600 now i guess. be nice if they reduced the herb requirements or made a prolonged power equivalent or something.

you need more multiboxers on tarren mill lmao:P

Supply and demand. Endoff, really.

If you feel you’re being ripped off, nothing’s stopping you from going alchemy, Right?

There’s a big difference between end of expansion and the point BfA is at now. For exmaple, flying mounts help with gathering a lot.

If in doubt work out how much they cost to make then you have your answer…it’s utterly nuts how much pots cost to make.

Mats were lots less costly… I didn’t farm any more then than I do now. Flying never changed that for me. Iirc, I leveled my Alchemy on loads of Prolonged Power too.
