Is it only me, or does anyone else feel, that certain classes that are based around undispellable dots are ridiculously basic?
Other classes have to stay on you to do DMG, meanwhile rogue needs literally 2 globals to fully dot you for XX seconds and it still does like 25k DPS. That does require less skill than playing fury war…
I find this bleed crap absolutely hilarious and absolutely unbalanced, that someone even though, this is a good thing in the first place.
I made rogue by myself to set it out, and it is so no brain, that after a couple of days I had to stop playing coz it was basic as hell…
I hope the game will switch to rather bite/envenom dmg than getting killed 100-0 by bleeds in a couple of seconds while no one hitting you.
Bleeds should be complimentary DMG (20-30% from whole dmg) or should be dispellable with a “new” cleanse same as magic dots are dispellable…
Well, it is also DH and Feral… What simply doesn’t make sense is that there is pretty much no counterplay since every melee can stay on you for 2-3 globals and after that, he does 80% of its DMG and doesn’t need to be on you for another 20 sec or so…
Undispellable dots should be complimentary DMG (20-30%) from whole, not major DMG since there is no counterplay other than being dwarf… Assa/DH/Feral still does the majority of DMG by bleeds/undispellable dots and rest is rather complementary good to have
Yes, but the dwarf is literally only counter play… There should definitely be dispelled if it is the majority source of DMG… Compared to the affliction lock, which has dots as the main source of dmg, has to be casted and it can be dispelled and the punishment is just laughable… With 8 seconds cooldown you can negate 80% of affiliates dmg but you cant negate bleed dmg by anything else than X min CD of dwarf racials, while it can be applied in 2 seconds back to you
Depends imo. Some classes (not just Healers) can dispel poisons, and things like Mending Bandage, Cauterizing Flame, BoP and the aforementioned Dwarf racial can be used to clear meaningful bleeds like Feral Frenzy or Deathmark.
I think they’re fine when the damage profile is tuned correctly, but things like Shadowlands Sepsis goes where DoTs alone would take you from 100-0 in 3 seconds regardless of whether the casting Rogue was even still in melee range or not are obviously OTT.
DH is an abomination as always. Seems like Blizzard wants to turn them into the best DoT-based melee for Dragonlands.
Assasins identity was aleays VENDETTA and ENVENOM. This dot stuff was introduced later. Poisons (which are dispellable) and envenom were main damage and its how it should have stayed. Solid instant damage with hefty bleeds for complementary damage, and poisons for main damage.
Taking away ferals bleeds dots is like taking away a beast masters pet or a shamans totems. It’s a big part of their playstyle.
Assassin also relies on poisons which are easier to dispell but a lot of people forget how effective it is to dispel their poison so they don’t use it.
having bleeds on 1 target is fine having bleeds that tick for 15-20k on everyone in the arena while having a MS is not fine bleeds should lose efectiveness for each target they are on lets say lose 33% for each enemy player that way its an overall buff to have it on multiple but its still in line with other casters dots because its 10x easier to get dots up on feral atm than it is as affliction warlock.
Its also less risky spreading dots as a caster then going into melee. Maybe remove the MS effect on multiple targets and make it so it only applies to one target and can’t go onto more then one target at a time.
ye because running at ferarri speed on feral and having increased meele range because of the lunar talent or using bone spike vanishing and garroting entire team which adds a silence is considerd a risky play you can actually just kidney shiv and you get more value out of it then if i was to free cast 2 entire glacial spikes on someone.
Running around with the lunar talent will cost you quite a bit survivability for a class which already doesnt have to much of defensives going on it’s not always to best built to run.
Also haven’t seen shiv hitting for 133k on a full pvp geared, so not sure what’s that about.
He’s not wrong, why are there different classes and specs in the first place? Why cant they just all be like an Elemental Shaman or Balance Druid, just build up the same resource and spend it on instant damage, with some minor dot damage like Flame Shock or Moon and Sunfire.
Yes. While bleeds were always part of the spec they became really core only with Legion.
That being, Assa design isn’t bad at the moment, although it could be nice to have a nerf to the bleeds and a buff to Deadly Poison, Mutilate and Envenom. That would make Assa a bit less powerful in cleave situations while keeping the ST intact, while also enabling stronger burst at the cost of losing more damage when successfully kited (or when kiting).
Also, doing more damage when pressing the buttons is more satisfying than doing it all passively. Right now pressing Mutilate is just to gain combo points, it doesn’t move the enemy HP bar. DoTs only are doing this.
