Why are cloaks on mplus loot tables?

Just a quick ask from Blizzard. Why is it cloaks are still on loot tables in mplus in 8.3?

They are’t in N’ Alotha so why have them in mplus?

I`m probably going to get flamed by a lot of people for this post but its increbably frustrating to spend an entire night in mplus trying to gear up only for nothing other than cloaks that are entirelly useless .

I mean why develop a game where you have two slots (Neck Cloak) that are basically irreplaceable and you still have loot dropping for these?

As I said before im going to get flamed for this post no doubt by a lot of people, But as a casual player its very very hard to get into mplus pugs. As it stands as i write this im sitting at 443 ilevel and i get rejected for most plus 3 and 4`s!

Its insanely frustrating to spend 4-5 hours in mplus in a night and get given two cloaks and nothing else. Surely im not the only one who feels this is a massive kick in the teeth? Blizzard, could you just not take them off the loot table just for 8.3? It doesnt seem rigtht to me to essentially Discriminate against mplus players, by limiting their gear drops. You don`t do it to raiders in Ny alotha, so why do you not follow suite for mplus?

I guess they are just lazy or something. It makes absolutely no sense to have cloaks drop in m+ in season 4. They are not gonna drop in weekly chest though, so thats something i guess…

Transmogs, not everyone has the cloak immediately, etc.

Having the cloak and doing the 8.3 questline is a requirement for clearing the raid. Therefore, it is assumed that all people in the raid have Ashjra’kamas, Shroud of Resolve and thus cloaks are not on the loot tables.

Having the cloak or doing any 8.3 content is not a requirement for Mythic +, or dungeons in general. You could very happily jump straight into a dungeon with a freshly levelled up or boosted character. It is possible, however unlikely, that a person could enjoy doing Normal, Heroic, Mythic or Mythic + dungeons every single day until Shadowlands comes out without ever getting Ashjra’kamas, Shroud of Resolve. Not having cloaks on the loot tables would mean that person would be stuck with a levelling green. By leaving cloaks on the dungeon loot tables, Blizzard is leaving the door open for everyone to partake in the dungeoneering system however they see fit - even if no one steps through that door, the general design philosophy of the game has always been to leave as many doors open as possible for as many different kinds of players as possible.

yet they removed the cloak from mechagon that gives the trashmaster title

even a freshly leveled character/alt can do the intro quests to get the cloak and the cloak is 470 ilvl…which is much much much higher than 445 that is droping currently and its even higher than 465 that will drop from +15s next reset…and its really cheap easy to do the cloak quest. and ppl in pugs care about ilvl more than anything (as a player who is doing most of his m+ with pugs i know what i m talking about), plus the cloak on its own got some corruption ressistance to it which helps with corruption gear that will drop from m+…and i even made post about this aswell on the day of the patch (yes i m that lucky with the cloak drops from m+) and in the last 2 weeks i ve gotten more cloaks than i got in the previose season…this week i ve gotten 5 cloaks and in 1 run i ve done this week there were 2 cloaks that drop, 1 for me and the other got socket on it…so F***K YOU blizz…if you want ppl to have the cloaks as transmog just let them drop from m0 and remove them from m+, like they did with azerite armor

you can still obtain it from hc/mythic dungeon. you then have to complete one of janis quests to unlock the permanent title.

You can do Normal/HC/Mythic for that… people do M+ for gear, not transmogs.

You can get the cloaks in normal mythic for transmogging, there is no need for them to drop in M+.

How many people who care about M+ would run keys before getting the legendary cloak, which is an easy-to-get upgrade?

I thought cloaks were removed from the M+ loot table? I could’ve sworn this was mentioned in an interview somewhere.

They’re removed from loot tables for the weekly box of disappointment. They can still drop in the end-of-dungeon chest.

Just the weekly chest, even had a blue post last week confirming they will still drop from end of dungeon chests in m+.

TL; DR… old loot tables with their iL updated would be my guess, since I’m pretty sure they use the same Loot table as all the other difficulties.

Well, they were able to take azurite pieces out of the M+ loot tables (and punchcards now for mecha?).

Pass… I don’t actively run Dungeons at any level enough for Loot tables to be ‘required reading’. :frowning:

Without knowing the Database structure of WoW I can’t say for sure but I assume it’s not a case of flipping a switch.

Also transmogs I guess. But mostly DB I’d imagine

Should be farmable in normal or HC ? It makes no sense that it is on the S4 loot table.

From a US Blue post:-

Existing cloaks will still drop (like quests, Eternal Palace, catch-up systems, etc.), but there are no cloaks from Ny’alotha, and the weekly chests (M+ and PvP) were adjusted so they don’t drop cloaks either.

yes, they said it many time that there will be no cloaks from weekly chests (m+ or pvp), but the issue is that the cloaks are droping from end of the run chests in m+, which is basicly middle finger to the player to get useless item after completing a dungeon

Its a big middle finger from blizzard. If we wanted tmog we could just do the dungeon on mythic0 or lower difficulties.

We got 6 cloaks drop in 2 days while playing with guildies but someone got it even worse. Once the only loot we got from a key was 2 cloaks. Its not like we were trying to get newly dinged ppl gear so they can raid with us…

Seriously why couldnt they think about this before they put the system in.
And who cares about newly dinged characters. They will get their legendary cloak within the day and wont ever need any cloaks from dungeons to wear ever again.
