Why are Draenei called space GOATS?

I’m outta here!

Well they look like goats (horns, hooves, etc) and they fled Argus with Velen in a spaceship to get away from Sargeras, Kil’jaeden and Archimonde. Then built a new spaceship the Vindicaar that we all took back to Argus to help them get rid of Sargeras. Hence space faring goats or space goats.

Hey Chocoh. Just looked you up on RIO, Are you on a break or something?

Look, I get the space bit, but not the goat bit. There are more animals than goats that have horns, hooves etc. They dont look like goats. Tauren look more like goats, and they are cows. If you put horns and hooves on a orc it doesnt turn into a goat. Satyrs could be goat like sure, but not draenei.

Also, wtf is waggle??

Hamburger emoji?
You??

Not played this guy since start of BFA :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:.

Been playing classic since it came out, loving every second of it. Might come back to retail for shadowlands. But at the same time stupidly excited for TBC if we get it.

Interesting fact on satyrs.

Almost all of the demonology in theology and fiction in the last 500 years have all depicted demons as having horns. This idea was taken from Dante’s Inferno when Dante And Virgil are in the Malebolge (circle 9) and are observing the Grafters who are punished by being submerged in boiling pitch which symbolizes the sticky dealings they pursued in life, Patrolling the ditches are massive demons with hooks (again, to suit a narrative, they are sometimes depicted as wielding pitchforks) and nets who will throw their nets at sinners they find above the pitch and haul them in before ripping them to pieces and throwing the newly formed soul back into the pitch. Dante describes these demons as being immensely tall, with black fur, hideously fanged faces, with wide outstretched bat wings and with horns on their heads. To Dante the horns symbolize cuckoldry. No other demon is described in such a way during the inferno, indeed no other Demon apart from Charon is given a specific name (all of Dante’s demonic guides as he makes his way to the Shattered Bridge just past the Grafters have names) and it has been taken as a given over the centuries that de facto demons all follow that look.

Two further theological point are worth noting. It is stated that in Hell the first sinners to be cast there were the Rebellious Angels led by Lucifer. Therefore Hell was created before Man was created. Because God knew that Man would sin he created aspects of Hell unique to Man. Angels are not punished in the lower circles which signify Fraud, as only man is capable of Fraud. A handful of Rebellious Angels try to block Dante and Virgil’s descent into Dis (All the fires of hell are contained within these walls. There is no fire outside of Dis) and only Divine Intervention helps them pass. Most of the Rebellious Angels are classed as The Opportunists, in that they were neither for God or Lucifer, but only for themselves. They are punished in the Vestibule by chasing a never tiring banner through dirty air while maggots lie in the ground as flies and wasps constantly sting them and their blood falls to the ground where the maggots feast on it. They are the first of the Damned that Dante observes

The second point is that God has an ultimate punishment for the damned, in that they are given the gift of foresight, but know nothing of the present or the past. This is a clever device because at Judgement day when all things end and heaven and Hell are shut for eternity, the damned will have nothing to see. Therefore their minds will be void. Another thing to remember is that a soul in Hell if it chooses to remain there cannot leave under no circumstances. Hell is a deliberate choice. The Grace of Christ is enough to save any soul who asks for redemption.

So that’s where your horns on satyr’s springs from.

You may now shout “NERRRRDDD!!!” at me…

They look more like goats than cows or elves.

My aunt and uncle had goats on their farm, I can actually see a slight resemblance :joy: There is something about the face, but also the legs and horns.

Ãnna’s alt here… I have a 5 man team of space goats :purple_heart:
