in arena against casters its simple you focus the caster or you just lose because you will focus his healer and he will cleave both of you without taking any damage nayway

Because every melee have so much gabclosers that most of the casting classes dont have realy that much else to do than sit here and tank them…
I mean yeah WW, DH, feral and rogue can. But what about the plate bois? Perhaps not DK so much.
I’ll use Mage as an example here, Warrior has a charge and leap for the Mages both blinks, Blade storm & Avatar for the Nova, Spell Reflect (for himself), Pummel, Stormbolt, Banner and Fear if really needed to stop cc. Even when you do get some space it doesn’t change to much because most of Warriors dmg is coming from bleeds anyway, Warriors aren’t bad into Fire Mages, Frost can be horrible for them though. But Rets are kinda screwed, all they have is 1 dispel able slow, freedom and a stead. Not really anything to deal with the CC bar a kick. It’s probably not even worth mentioning a DK, anti caster.
Warrior has CDs and it works great against other CD mobility based classes, but is horrendous against spamable slows.
Against a fire mage, I agree that uptime is not an issue at all, largely due to the fact that fire mages doesn’t slow. But try to go up against a Chains of Skill/Skill Knife spamming DK/rogue with full gushing. You’ll be tempted to reroll immediately.
Ret definitely suffers the hardest though
Tbh casters have to be tanky these days cause we have no mobility(except mage) and we can’t deal with mêlée toolkit.
It’s even more true imo when all bfa only melee were able to abuse with the most broken pve items(getikku/tank trinket and crucible shield+caster trinket/ motorcycle /drestagath).
Harbringer, claw, Champion of the light’s absorb trinket, void stone, crucible staff, leviathan, jellyweed.
Harbinger wasn’t even good for all caster because of the silence, voodoo doll and claw can be dispelled/cloak/ground/meld etc…
I agree voidstone/shield were insane but they were nerfed for non healer and last only 1season so definitely melee were all bfa in way better spot imo.
Because blizzard design team led by that clown Ion are a bunch of mostly incompetent “just graduates” (for cheaper), that wanted wow to be like the moba games they grew up on (instead of on real good RPGs), and they messed design totally.
Melees (most) have endless mobility.
Melees now kite is a winning tactics
Casters are tanks.
Armor doesn’t matter
HP doesn’t matter - all have the same, some casters even have most
Damage doesn’t come from class abilities anymore
and more and more and more all crap, that turned this game’s pvp into a real clown fiesta, but what else could it be?..having in mind it comes from a team lead by the biggest clown in WoW history.
That’s why PvP and Arena were much better and balanced in BC.
I still wonder why I came back to this s-game when you see warlock literally 2 shotting people (with 35+% versatility) in arena

Melee: Why caster tanky?!?!
Also Melee: I am speed.
Melee has so much disruption and up time on even the most mobile casters that they have to be tanky or they just instantly die. If you want squishy casters without everything on instant cast like in Wrath and Cata melee will need to lose a lot of mobility and disruption.
Otherwise it wont change.
I mean, criticize warlocks and presenting TBC arena as better choice is a little bit questionable dont you think?

Problem with Melee lies not only in overpowered mobility on short CD. It is also mage-simplified rotations, short burst preparation time, easy resource management, great anti-damage capabilities against other melee classes and casters, short interupt CD, and also huge amount of range baseline abilities, and now range essences, corruptions. Melee is no longer a melee.
Right now you can bind all melees to gamepads and they still would play good, because of how simple their design are, and with that simpliscity comes overpowered damage dealing capabilities. No Melee in game has tideous and long ramp up mechanic like demo, or poor resource management system like affli.
Warlocks against any criticism. Get gut, l2kite, l2LOS, kick my 0.4 casts in CC. I like it.
If devs makes that u can’t re-taunt their pet in 20 sec after first one in PvP(thats they actually not don’t really appreciate) - its a really special attitude to the whole class. They want to see that class if not at the super-TOP, but at least near it. And compare with some other classes have a lot of issues in PvP.
Its due to poor design.
Casters should be more squishy while negating that squishyness with extra kiting or CCing tools.
Wow pvp looks exactly like this nowadays:
While class balance is ok right now(every class and the majority of specs have the possibiltie to get top rated), combat balance is in its worst state ever.

i think the only melee that can kill you from range is demon hunter with that fly pvp talent. you can still kite and avoid dmg
