Tanks were told that we’re not supposed to be viable in pvp because we’re unfun to deal with, so tanks were nerfed into the ground to appease the whiners. One class however seems immune to this; druids, It’s not uncommon for rated BG groups to only accept a bear tank, since for some unknown reason Blizzard decided only bears are allowed to be tanky in pvp. It takes at least 5 dps twith perfect timing to take down one good bear tank, the situation is out of control. Each bear in pvp is like trying to take down a raid boss. Can we get a blue response on why of the 6 tank specs in the game, only one is allowed to be an actual tank in pvp?
As far as I know they have CC immunity so they are hard to deal with, wasn’t Vengeance DH best tank for a while in RBGs along with Guardian Dru? Did ya get nerfed?
It is very annoying.
It’s about the druids toolkit, they can’t be cc’d with the correct legendary and they can’t be harrassed as effectively as a dh because of stealth. That makes them able to get to flags safer and faster and it makes defence easier. Plus they are absurdly tanky.
Other tanks aren’t even in the same league.
Feral druids ability to retain absurd damage and high avoidance in all forms is the source of the problem.
Only solution I can think of is better itemization. No longer generously give all druid stances ridiculous amounts of attack power and stats. Instead of this, there could be a bear staff or item set that would properly boost bear stats for tanking and another one for pvp. A druid would have to choose what type of feral to play and not get all benefits through one set of items.
Currently druids are a very bad joke in the game and bad jokes are not funny. First they pounce you and with two abilities take 70 - 80% of HP, then they switch into an indestructible bear with 15k HP that hits for 1,5k damage. (with 60-70% avoidance)
From a pure combat perspective a Bear is better than a VDH in pvp, it’s survivability is way too good to pass up. Bear is also better on objectives, more tanky to guard them and faster to carry flags while harder to kill. I mean you can’t root or slow them, at all, and they have huge burst of speed in kitty form and constant speed in travel form. Bear is the undisputed king of pvp tanking atm. Vengeance had a good early first season because it was the tank to be in pve, and everyone was playing it, and since it was also pretty good the meta just gravitated around it. Prot pally shined for a bit with it’s broken healing and damage. But now it’s bear time.
I wouldn’t say allowed, I would say ‘‘accepted’’ or ‘‘not excludet’’
If there is a tierlist you have the answer what to play
Druid tanks have:
- 30 sec cc immunity ever 2 and a half minutes
- 2x enraged regen with low cd on each charge, basically a heal for half of your max hp with can be buffed with some necro shenenigans and conduits even further
- Stealth
- Ok mobility, can drop all snares and roots on GCD
- Some sort of utility and CC
- Good damage for a tank
The stealth, self heal and CC immunity alone makes it way above other tanks. The only reason DH could compete is because of extreme mobility and ability to jump though walls. People don’t want a tank for RBG, they just want a tank druid
If only ONE spec was viable in any other form of content it would be hotfixed the next day, because it means the balance is downright broken. So I guess the other 5 tank classes in the game will just have to accept bears being the only viable tanks in pvp indefinitely?
