Why are people asking for Knowledge respec?

People asking for respec really don’t understand that the whole profession system rn works JUST BECAUSE people cannot respec knowledge so one character cannot dominate whole profession niche. That allows more people to make pretty good wealth cause highly specialized staff is much more valuable.

I think it’s fair that people who didn’t even want to plan their build get deservedly little profit.

Moreover, how did you even determine that your builds are “bad”? I’ve spent huge amount of skillpoints to upgrade Chronocloth nodes in Tailoring, which are unprofitable at the moment, but I KNOW that once players can get renewable Sparks of Ingenuity, they WILL go up in value and my investments will pay off.

So why, why are you asking for respec?

I ask for rest because I learn the wrong specs and now I must level up to 75/100 to unlocks plans. But for level up I need this plans.

One reason why people are asking for respec on knowledge might in for example Alchemy is because it seems bugged with experimentation crafts. People who didn’t use their knowledge points on advanced experimentation are locked out and can’t progress in the profession at all because they keep failing the experiment on the first try with a 4 hour cd

Because if you made a poor decision in the first week of the expansion when you didnt really know and understand the system, you can be basically locked out of partaking in professions, one of the biggest selling points of the expansion, in any worthwhile way for several months.

To be able to change your mind?

For Alchemy, with the serial failed experiments, I realized I need to fill out experimentation in order to do anything in alchemy. IF someone like me didn’t know this, they will be in limbo with back to back failed experiments and it had 4 HR CD for each failure. I am on 6 back to back failures.
SO I strongly think Alchemy needs a reset. don’t know about other professions.

You should able to respec if you choose wrong specialization then you are done because it will be USELESS. I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY RESPEC DOESNT EXIST IN GAME.

Agreed, respec has no place in the current form of profession specialization. It would just open the floodgates for abusing the system.

At most, allow a respec once every major patch, but definitely not wily-nilly for every Tom, Dick and Sally that drooled over their keyboard when putting the points in. Play the game right if you want to feel right!

But you naturally failed because you did not plan your build correctly, isn’t it? I said why allowing ppl to respec will destroy the whole purpose of this system. Developers gave people great opportunity to make profit and reanimated craft and now you want to ruin it all just because some people didn’t give a damn about their build and now are like “I want respecs cause I don’t want to pay for my mistakes”? I don’t think that people HAVE to pay for mistakes but complex systems like that require some sort of risk.

And to be honest, I don’t see any passives in crafting professions except Alchemy mentioned above that do not worth their points at all. When life give you lemons, make lemonade or whatever.

What’s your example of ruined build? Maybe I can try to fix it some way.
I really want to know because I have only:
Tailoring
Skinning
Herbalism
Alchemy (Realized that I have to spec experimentation by myself without any guidance before it was too late btw)

So maybe I haven’t seen some weird stuff yet.

I haven’t seen any useless specializations yet. Maybe you just have to find ways to utilize it?

Alchemy needs a patch with guaranteed success around 3rd failing experimentation try, not reset.

And I kinda feel like you don’t even need alchemy skill level above 70 cause you can’t make best potions without inspiration and inspiration modifier is much, much bigger than 30.

And yes, you can easily make gold producing silver-quality potions if you don’t want to gamble with inspiration, as well. And you still don’t need level 100 for that.

P.S. My plan-A for making gold is alchemy with my self-made build and I kinda calculated many stuff and do know what am I talking about.

Potion and Phials are dead. Ppl are playing too rough there and market is availablr only for massive profuctions (1000 pots +) otherwise rng Multicraft/Inspiration God will „bless“ you for many tousends of gold in minus.
You can do gold only in Reagents atm.

People fail at things all the time, it doesn’t mean though that they are stuck for months or years before they can spec into the right tree. This is ridiculous. Not even covenants were this bad in terms of gating. How are people supposed to know whats good or not if they cant even experiment? Does it mean that they need to wait 1 month after the xpac is out to watch a youtube guide?

Not to mention that many of the talents are straight out deceiving. They dont tell you the percentages for example the one about prospecting more gems which is such a low percentage that anyone who took it is just stuck with a bad tree. But how were people supposed to know since it tells you nothing expect “chance of prospecting more”. Well? Whats the chance? It just doesnt say.

Well, actually, you DO know which talents are good and which are not, if you know the game itself . . .
And as I said, I haven’t seen useless talents yet, except Tailoring cloth drop chance

so what in 4 months u guys will have like 90 points in every spec tree anyway thats why it has no respec …

Because people want to be the best at everything on day one, minmaxing n stuff

Personally i just smacked leatherworking on all my alts and specced them differently since leather costs literal silver on my realm ;o

funny thing is u cant get skill 100 even u respec

Because it’s a new system and I assume many, like myself, didn’t go down the right path and now it’s very hard to get to those specs we really wanted to get to.

Even a one-time respec would be welcome, as a courtesy; let us learn from our mistake.

It is not good at all.

  • Its completely useless. I cant make gold. I dont have fun with it.
  • Its impossible to even catch up to those anyone who did it ‘perfectly’.
  • This is even worse the later you start a profession. I cannot inagine this system is not friendly at all to players.
  • Public crafting orders? What are those? Nobody uses them on a full server anymore. There’s only 3 28+ renown items up for tailoring and 4 for enchanting (Based on recipe from Vault).

This system only benefits those who put months of times in it and peolpe who start profession in the next weeks are simply not abl to benefit, so for these people, its only a waste of time where as older system you just level, if need mats to level, you get them.

KP cap per week destroys this way of doing professions. Its way to harsh. Its not a hardcore MMO like Eve Online or Star Citicen, where if you die you actually lose alot more stuff then just a corpse walk and some durabilllity.

I STILL havnt had KP stones from dragonscale treasures since last week!!!

Its an HORRIBLE system.

There’s not ‘abuse’.

You can easely outgear what you can craft and if you think someone can easely obtain 3 sparks for crafting, you’re not correct.

Allready told you this.

The only people who ‘benefit’ are the selfish pricks that owned a specialty from the start and try to prevent competition which causes high prices to beggin with.

You’re not worth 10+K for anything if I bring my mats. All you do is click craft.

Because a lot of people expected, like any other talent system in this game, that it was changeable/reversible.

I read up on it beforehand, on sources NOT on wow or wow forums.
Which should NOT be required.
However most of my friends have put in talents into the wrong trees, 1 because they thought they could reset, or 2 because they thought they would gain more talents faster.

The information given when starting putting in points into the trees, really needs a warning as it goes against the talent concept in any other in-game system.

Just give everyone a single reset, and add a warning when people want to spend their first point.
