Why are prestigious things accwide but basic essences arent?

I can kill nzoth heroic(mythic) once and use the mount on my lvl20 alt
i can obtain my Arena elite mog and use it on all characters (from same armor typ) even tho i didnt achieve the rating on them
i can do every +15 key intime and use the worm on my alt who never seen a keystone

and so on …

but i cant use something that is from an outdated patch that i obtain by oneshotting 50k mobs every day for a month (ex nazjatar crap) on all my chars?

zZzzZz remove this timegated crap grind already thank you. people who enjoy grinding them can do it anyway.

i think i do like to lvl an alt so much but when i think about essences and cloak (funny enough 8.3 grindthing got a catchup mechanic earlier than 8.2 outdated crap) i think i dont.

Becouse essences is power not cosmetic thing.

For the same reason that gear isn’t account-wide. Both are power enhancements for a character, that must be earned by that character.

That’s the reason. It makes sense. “Prestige” has nothing to do with it.

There is no doubt that Essences are a major stumbling block, though, not just for alts but for returners.

I would not make them account-wide, but I would make them vastly easier to get, down to buying from a vendor for gold in the case of R1 and R2 essences.

Why can’t you read the forum rules, do a search or comment on one of the many threads already in existence about this subject ?

Obviously if the above 3 things are beyond you then any type of explanation is just going to go right over your head and therefore pointless.

You don’t really need BiS rank 3 essences in every slot on every alt. Don’t put yourself under pressure like that. Second best or third best essence will do.

That being said I agree essences should be account wide.

Nonetheless you’re comparing them to cosmetic items (mounts and mogs) while essences are character progression.

Also, don’t get your hopes up. It’s most likely not going to happen no matter how many extra threads (there’s one big thread already, there was no need for this one) as Blizzard is probably already putting all available resources into Shadowlands now. Making essences account wide would require pulling resources away from Shadowlands development.

I see you are up to your usual on the essence topic, ignoring facts because they very inconveniently don’t suit the narrative you built in your head of alts being physically unplayable.

Nazjatar and Mechagon reputation essences had their requirements moved down to Revered. You can also buy account-wide rep tokens for those factions.

Mechagon essences had their Spare Crate and Oscillator price reduced. Oscillators also became craftable via Tinkering.

Memory of Lucid Dreams had required follower rank decreased.

Crucible of Flame had its Heart of Azeroth requirement effectively removed by HoA catch up.

Sprockets for Vision of Perfection became obtainable in M+ and Heroic difficulties, meaning you are no longer limited to 1 per week and can get it in queable content.

Aqueous Reliquaries are now significantly faster to stack up because even people wearing a red nose and clown shoes can breeze through Eternal Palace Heroic. If you only have the shoes on you can probably do Mythic.

PvP essences had the Honor requirement for the achievement decreased significantly.

This all happened either in 8.2 or at the beginning of 8.3, so significantly earlier than the hotfix catch up for Ashjrakams. The only essences that did not have their requirements significantly reduced as catch-up are the essences that are tied to content that is season agnostic, ie. Rated PvP/Conquest, War Mode, Mythic + and Island Expeditions.

still takes weeks to get them. you need less time spent on farming vessels/doing assault to get your cloak to lvl12 than doing any of this crap.

cant remember last time i had to do last patch dailies to increase my powerlvl.

horrible game design. im ehre to play with my friends and not to do solo content chores.

When you reach 120 with an alt you can gear it to 385 instantly with Benthic gear ( even more now there are 410 ilvl version ) so you do have a power up^^^^^^

Off the top of my head, how about, well I don’t know… Let’s say Legion? When even in 7.3(.5) people were clearing all the previous raid tiers, doing non-Argus emissaries and flying around picking up chests on the Broken Shore for Legendaries?

And if you count AP as an increase in power level… Even after Nazjatar/Mechagon was released, plenty of people were still doing dailies in Kul Tiras/Zandalar for AP…

Indeed. And you can also simply buy crafted items of ilevel 400 whether you have a main or not. And with a few Tokens, you can buy 470 items with ideal Corruption.

And my suggestion to make R1 and R2 essences simply buyable is equivalent to that. Now all we need is for people to be able to sell their R3 essences on the AH so that people can pay Blizzard for Tokens to get those instantly as well, to make the system equivalent.
