Why are professions soo bad at making gold in shadowlands?

Alchemy is completely useless for gold making , there is no more random proc chances to make extra potions , that means your profit margins from actually making something are close to 0 , its just always better to just sell your raw herbs to save some time crafting them , i dont even bother making my own potions and flask because it takes time and i can just sell the herbs and buy pots for AH.

You left out the itty bitty detail, that potions now have a 5min cooldowns instead of 1. Alchemy was always the king of professions once the raid tier is out, I don’t mind that it is nerfed for once.

I mean agility potions still are like 550g each. Not exactly bad to make money with tbh.

Crafting legendary’s is also very tricky ,basically if you dont come into the expansion with 1-2mil gold pool you cant make gold with it , raw materials are a lot more expensive than crafted pieces because every1 wants to rank up their legendary crafting , and only players with large amount of gold can buy and craft at a loss to increase their ranks , then sell for profit , but there are so many doing it i dont even know if they will end up in profit. Its a risky thing.

The only way i see making gold now is to actually play the AH like crypto market , buy low sell high depending on the day of the week.

On high pop server where bots and multiboxers are rampart farming herbs or mining or skinning is apsolute garbage , the maximum you can make is 20-30k an hour with optimal route , so to buy a wow token you need to basically farm a whole day and do nothing else , its just straight better to buy gold with euros and be done with it .

Already made 400k gold from alchemy without trying to much (just to cover raid expenses) this x-pac from crafting potions, buying cheap herbs at right time and selling potions before raids. With dedicatio and time invest, this could’ve been much mich more. So L2P issue for you really. If you need some advices, you can always ask more experienced players
