No matter if wind, dragonsounds, birds, waterfalls, etc. Why are they sound effects and not ambient?
I know that the devs invested time into it and think everybody should hear it, but I REALLY hate those sounds. I want them to be muted without muting queue pops etc.
Is there any way to fix that?
There were hotfixes made for the dragonriding mount noises a while back because they were totally unbearable before the nerf. Constant roaring, spluttering, grunting, you name it, terrible design. They nerfed it and it’s mostly better.
You can get an addon to help mute sounds called Leatrix Plus. You will need to get the sound IDs for each sound you wish to mute, which can be obtained from fansites like WoWhead. It’s not an easy process however so work with what you got.
I should add the addon comes with a preset selection of muted in-game sounds that are considered annoying, so that might be useful too.
