hi, why are summoning stones outside of instances and are not inside instead?
I can think of at least 10 reasons why it should be inside but I cannot think of a single good reason why they are outside. With cross faction enabled for lfg, it is hard to know the location of your other faction teammate since their nameplate will not be showing. another reason for pvp enabled players, people die a lot by other pvp enabled players when they are outside waiting to summon their friends. And also, for wm on/off, alot of times u find out that u cannot summon because your friend next to you has wm on/off. additionally , when you get summoned and accept the summon, u get loading page, then u go in and u get another loading page then maybe u need to repair and go out and in and u get 2 loading pages. And the worst thing is when you summon someone and all your party go in, then you find out that the person you summoned is afk, THEN 2 people have to go out and summon him again . So many reasons make me believe summoning stones should be inside.there might be a good technical reason why it is the way it is but if blizzard can place them inside, it would be a good quality of life improvement and people will love it. What do you guys think? please let me hear your thoughts

On topic with the amount of dungeons and raids we have it would take a lot to move them. Also do not forget some stones serve more than one dungeon/raid.
Not only that but some instances would need a rework at the entrance for a stone to be fitted in.
Not really the answer i expected from an MvP seems very harsh and blunt and tbh a bit trollish.
Sounds like a reason to keep it. World PvP doesnât work if people just teleport from sanctuary to instance and vice versa. Anyone who doesnât like it can disable war mode.
well warlocks can summon you anywhere, itâs not related to stoneâs position.
i think the reason is because thatâs how they could do it in 2004 , probably a classic design idea behind it and it was called a meeting stone so meet up and enter the dungeon . i donât know why they donât revamp them or keep adding the same old thing tho. it could be done like a readycheck, one click from the lead .
the stones werenât for summoning, back in ye old days they functioned as a LFG for that dungeon that could only be used by interacting with that stone.
I mean, the MvP was 100% right though. That is a quality of life improvement that a class is bringing, sooooo bring the class.
Same could be said for food âwhy arenât there food vendors in raidsâ: just bring a mage if thatâs that important for you.
Having the stone inside wouldnât really change anything, would only matter for wm.
So much of this forum is filled with people spamming useless grievances about convenience items. Maybe blizz would care more about this place if the things raised were actually serious, but these posts really dilute it

every post means something to somebody just because we do not agree with them doesnt make them less valid.

It was changed to function as summoning stones in 2.0.1 . There was no 1.13 patch Meeting stones worked as LFG system in vanilla, nobody used them though because world/lfg channel was better.
I never said it isnât valid BECAUSE I donât agree with it.
There are plenty of things I agree with that are ânot validâ aka are âuseless to postâ because they are just personal grievances and not constructive feedback

class can bring you to any point tho. if that was the reason we wouldnât have stones at all
There are things that bring convenience to you. For example the AH mount. AH mounts didnât replace AH NPCs and didnât create AHs themselves, they just bring the AH to you.
Mageportals, repairmounts, repairbots etc do the same, they bring something that already exists in the game to wherever you want it

Could be awkward inside as many dungeons have progression points. Re entering does not put you at the start. Outside is always static. Both factions can summon each other. Its only wm on/off or being on different phases of a zone that causes issues of you are the summoning duo.
Yes, itâs hard to spot team member of different faction because of name plates and font colour is different as well. What i do is, i simply place markers on party members so we can see each others in the crowd.
