Why are the official Forum so dead?

We are relics of another age.
The new mob is too busy cancelling each other in the depths and darkest corners of social media.

the ingame voice chat or even the bnet client voice chat get bugged alot, i wouldnt call em a solution more like a gimmick (till they actually get reliable to use).

Class forums have been dead for as long as I can remember.

this needs to be banned

with microsoft taking over i see a total ban on non official site (wow/blizzard/microsoft) tools /websites for two reasons 1) competition 2)safety/RMT/Viruses 3) both - and this it will be presented as

so we will see the skype/microsoft chat apps taking a new form with inbuilt game ecosystems from xbox to mobile games

Why?

People use Discord for normal chatting with friends etc. Its perfect to be able to join servers discussing stuff they like, like WoW.

Game is dying sadly due to filtering out fun with more systems to keep people playing longer to look better on a board room spread sheet.

If you take bots and boosters into consideration the actual player base is way smaller now than most people think. hopefully Microsoft can save the game but it may be too far gone.

I still like it so I have hope but BFA and Shadowlands have felt like nails in a coffin.

I believe the game is on a life support we will see if 10.0 will be the coffin.

If the ingame tools didn’t suck as much as they do, I’m sure people would rather use those, just because it is easier.

The ingame features for this are pretty lackluster though, so I can see why people use 3rd party platforms.

discord

yet ppl use it due to clever marketing directed at twitch sheeps

Is amazing.

You think Discord is a Twitch thing? I use Discord because its good, and my friends used it - and its btter than Skype. I don’t use Twitch, nor do I watch Twitch.

To hell with Twitch.

I personally use it mainly for these reasons:

  • I like to have discussions split up in multiple channels by topic.
  • I don’t need to necessarily be online in WoW to talk to people.
  • It has more features than the ingame chat (posting pictures, markdown formatting, hyperlinks etc.)

Doesn’t really have that much to do with marketing.

I installed discord because of the WoW FailTrain community in Legion. Has nothing to do with (Twitch-)marketing.

you play goblin, your taste in amazingness isnt relevant

And you play human, the most bland and generic race in any fantasy world.

You don’t have taste in general.

I wan’t more customization (like, the old Dragonmaw tattoos, skin and Blackrock skin for Orcs), I don’t care much more beyond that tbh.

Yes, but I don’t live in a fantasy world now do I?

If I could’ve been an Orc irl, I sure as hell would’ve.
