Why are there so few world quests?

The hunt is up 24/7 which is why i said make it something like that.

I think the majority of people disliked them because they were MANDATORY in previous expansions because things such as artifact power, Azerite power, Anima etc were tied to them and those things were mandatory so people saying “they were optional” are being disingenuous.

That being said in this expansion they really are optional so i don’t see why they are so infrequent.

Not only the Grand hunt is non-stop here are other activities:

  • Sebalian/Wrathion
  • Cobalt assembly
  • Elemental Storms

In my book the Citadel and Feast events are content. Also Rare, Elite mobs plus treasures too. The daily fishing quests and the 2 or 3 war mode daily WQs are also content.
I never liked the WQs in BFA and SL. Especially those which gave high gold and reputation. I HAD to do them daily. Not anymore. When WQs are not daily is better for me.

These are just grinding mobs. Personally i deem this to be awful and tedious game design.
Its honestly the least fun things to do in the game.
I dont get its appeal at all.

they were optional, less so in legion and start of bfa because there was player power tied to them, but in SL anima was EVERYWHERE and no player power was tied to it whatsoever. No need to do all the WQs.
claiming this was still mandatory is disingenuous.

Yeah or you can always just level an alt

They weren’t. Amount of AP you would get from WQ’s in comparison to raid and m+ was minuscule.

I agree with that however when Shadowlands first launched they were mandatory as anima was not as easy to come by that came in later patches

I like them a lot for different reasons.

  1. The buffs in Cobalt assembly are Torghast 2.0 and are fun to play with both in PvP & PvE parts of the Cobalt assembly.
  2. Because of Sebalian/Wrathion I created two new builds  for open world. I really like playing with my DH
  3. The elemental storms I have mixed feelings. I have not played them enough yet. (m+ just opened damn it)

So all in all I am having enormous enjoyment from the Open world right now. I hated playing in the open world the last 2 expansions. The last time I liked it was in Legion.

they were not mandatory at the start of SL either imo. All you could get with them was some quality of life stuff and recolours of tmogs.
Explain to me how that is mandatory to get.

Daily quests were mind numbing, no challenge, same thing over and over, single player boring content. They were not the solution to a lively and interesting open world at all. Instead of asking for more of them you should ask from Blizz to be more creative.

The cobalt area is fairly interesting but too short. I’m almost done in a couple of hours with it. Blizz needs to come up with new ideas for the world but daily quests, no thanks. They were extremely boring and not what a mmo should have.

MMO should have options, many of them. Removing content is never the answer. Improving it, sure.
Like torghast, this had potential, but instead of improving on it they abandon it.

For every content you dislike there is someone who enjoys it Removing is thus never the answer, instead add more options.

dungeons and raids are a part of the game not the main alto ppl like you like to think so.

There have been many complaints of the game feeling like a shore during shadowlands.

Reducing world quests and removing callings is part of the response :stuck_out_tongue:.

It’s all good, there’s still endless hunts and stuff for those who wants to 24/7.

What i’d like to know is: Who are the people who complained about all the mandatory WQs?

Were they the raid- or mythic-loggers (Or PvP-ers) who won’t touch WQs at all anyway, now the raid/mythic+ season has started? (In which case, their opinion doesn’t really matter)

Blizz made two changes to WQs, they uncoupled them from player power (No more Anima/Azerite/AP to farm), and they made them “Two resets a week”, i totally agree with the first change, but with that, is it really still necessary to do the “Two resets a week”-thing?

“Their opinion doesn’t really matter” :man_facepalming:

All opinions matter, yours aren’t worth more than anyone else’s for blizz who tries to balance the full impression of the game for the whole playerbase.

I meant it in the sense of “People who don’t do WQs complaining about them carries as much weight as me complaining about PvP or mythic raiding”, if people don’t like something they’re always going to say “Do less of that”, so their opinions are biased against the content being discussed, which does indeed make their opinion on a certain type of content less valuable than that of somebody who actually enjoys it.

The two are connected though. Back when we needed to farm a lot of anima, daily quests made sense. Now though, what would daily quests give exactly? There is only so much gear you can get till it’s not an upgrade anymore and you reach that point in a couple of days.

Renown? The system is designed so it isn’t maxed in a couple of weeks. I guess you can make dailies give 30 renowns so it would take the same amount of time as it does now but then you wouldn’t do those twice a week because it gives so little so you have to do them everyday. And we’re back to where we were in Sl.

Why would you pay monthly to not play the game.
