Seriously, PvP is more fun than PvE for me currently. After years of burning myself out in M+, I enjoy the light illustrious rounds in Alterac being delegated to “DOCKS!” out of pure routine and reading a “Which tower?” being collectively answered with “MAGE TOWER!”. Those capslock calls to action by a self-proclaimed bg lead are pure gold and made me laugh more often the past few weeks since I’m back to PvP than M+ ever would. Because lets be honest, the real player vs player happens on PvE pug ground these days.
I do also rather suspect that PvP in Dragonflight will be pretty poor. I plan to PvE on retail and PvP on Classic myself.
It’s not just CC either. It’s the power of the cooldowns being extremely high as well, it’s the ability to stun and do this crazy damage at once, it’s the lack of resource systems that don’t just rely on cooldowns. It’s the insane mobility and CC counters that makes it actually impossible to do anything unless the enemy team is actually locked down or you’re immune to everything they can possibly do to peel you.
Yeah a start would be your DR needs 30or35sec until reset and u only can be hit twice with the same category of crowed controll
[Poly 6sec 2cnd poly 3 sec… immune for 30sec]
You are wrong. Cata and MoP was the pinnacle of WoW because there was so much CC. Outplaying potentials were through the roof. Even Dungeons were fun. Now its something Mythic+ which makes zero sense and its terribly designed meta slaving. And nobody cares if you are “good”.
Mythic+ basically destroyed most classes. Everything has to be streamlined for M+ balancing, that’s why all the unique abilities had to go.
for example a BC/WotLk Affliction lock is way funnier to play than that abomination on retail
I really hope they sooner or later see the issue with that before WoW gets killed forever.
Three of those are on the same DR and two share a spell school. I cannot imagine a world in which this toolkit is actually going to be any useful. They improved on most of the mage tree, but mass poly is just a bad idea.
I haven’t found Pvp enjoyable for many expansions already. Until they add some kind of resilience stat back…i’m not setting foot in BGs and god forbid arenas. Back in MoP and Warlords the resilience was great, despite the loud minority complaining, so many memorable 1v1s, 2v2s, heck even 3v3 and BG encounters that weren’t 1/2/3 shots or prolonged dampening matches, but an actual test of skill, room for outplay, do some serious damage if you know what you’re doing. That is, if you were in PvP gear, the PvP power and resilience balanced each other out fairly well, call things considered.
I had teh best time of my life back then.
Versatility we have now is simply…trash in PvP(even if good in PvE), the damage value is twice the amount of it’s defensive value making it a pointless stat for PvP to begin with where you need damage reductions/survivability, not more output.
This is not to mention Versatility takes up a secondary stat slot, limiting gameplay/playstyle options. I’d rather run interesting and fun crit, haste or mastery builds instead of being forced to choke on versatility.
Just bring back resilience in some way, at least as a 3rd stat on PvP gear, if not baseline.
